Raining now with some hail but I’m only on the edge of it. Somewhere is getting pasted now.

The storm heading S/W from Chelmsford looks a real monster, it's split into 2 distinct cells. This could be interesting!

Weird if it's heading that was as it's been getting nearer to me, however just shows how big that anvil is, easily visible from here. Not worth going after though.

Storm over Chelmsford? Probably about to miss Thurrock!

Got quite a few rumbles in Braintree, and a dump of rain for about 5 mins, has cleared the air a little, not a direct hit as I think it skirted us, but It’s better than owt.

Shame this is going to end up as a damp squib. Had high hopes for our area over the last week on account of quite a lot of hyping up over what turned out to be okay for some, but nothing particularly special.

Definately taking more than a pinch of salt with future forecasted events like this. Started with 3 or 4 opportunities for something significant and practically all our chances have gone now. Even tomorrow is a downgrade.

Amazing how it's visible at this distance - we've spent the afternoon in a neighbour's garden and it was visible to our south-southwest!

Lovely sunny afternoon up here with a gentle NE wind. Up to 24C today so not too bad at all.

Evening all :)

HUGE storm here in East Ham and across East London. Probably the strongest storm I've experienced in more than a decade of living in this part of the world. Serious hail and torrential rain for a good 15-20 minutes but now passed.

Watching it from my vantage point in SE London. Bone dry and sun out. Lovely view
