Just hope it doesn't miss this corner this time.

Unlikely we will be in the risk zone this evening. It’s disheartening but I don’t see it happening.

hope i’m Wrong

I know, we are very capped at the minute, got feathers fizzling, temp going back up though.

Lovely day here - away from all the action it seems, but if we can’t have the storms I will take sunshine and 26c any day of the week!

There are some thundery-looking clouds a few miles SSE of here...I can't be sure, but they seem either to be going nowhere, or against the prevailing wind?

Humidity is rocketing, phew it feels much hotter than it is.

My sleep last night was disturbed by very loud thunder and the crackle of lightening but not much rain.  Thurrock was not forecasted for thunder and lightning.   Even after the storm it still feels very humid and hopefully it will get less humid soon.

Looks like a fairly lively little storm, shame it’s not headed our way.

Typical we were over your way last night as there was lots of elevated lightning back home!

Thunder in Halesworth, bout time we got nowt last night. No lightening though.

I though I'd heard a rumble, but put it down to folks moving their bins...

Does anyone know why storms in this area tend to be at night? The last few years nearly all of the thunderstorms have come during the late even into the early morning.

First rumble I wasn’t sure either, second definitely as dogs went loco. No rain either even though radar showing it. Looks to be building out at sea though.

They usually need surface heating to trigger the storms, this tends to radiate upwards during the evenings/reaches it's peak so that's typically when we see the most storms

Think the Dutch cloud is helping the cap break, can see towers rapidly rising under it to my south east.
