Sun now out, after a cloudy start; temp at 12C and a wee bit breezy - to say the least!:cold:

PS: Where have all the reactions gone?

Probably got fed up with complaints about them being used wrongly in the serious discussion thread. I never reported but did find it annoying people laughing at people's real problems.

Warming up now, looking forward to seeing how things spark up tonight all high RES models have ppn over the region tonight but intensity varies with location etc etc going to look out for the tell tell signs later of elevated thunderstorms

Good luck all, like I said at the beginning of the week, Monday was our best chance at storms this week unless stuff crops up which it always does.

I have a feeling it will be a good night - things hopefully sparking off just after it gets dark - convective weather mentioned ‘destabilisation’ which suggests to me something more significant than just thundery rain or weakened imports

Still stuck under the low cloud and gloom here - 13c and feeling cold!

The forecasts all said the cloud would burn back to the coast....looking at the radar it looks more like it's clearing from the coast inland to me!

Indeed it is, MB...And, when the clearance eventually reaches you, don't expect temps to skyrocket - it's 13C over here, too.:cold:

I think the recent weather has set our expectations to high, its still only May and while the sun is approaching maximum strength it is on books not a very warm month 13-20c I would assume is the norm.

Given that most days in May for my location have got above 20c is incredible.

@Flash bang flash bang etc I think we need to wait and see what happens around 9-10pm and where we see the first hints of convection. Although some models do break out stuff before this.. Will be an interesting night for sure for some if storms are your thing.

I would say though that it has been mentioned areas West of London and into say Bristol have a better chance of more vivid storms, maybe this is to do with more general heat today than the east?

14C (as it's been for the last 3 hours) mostly sunny, windy...can't see the BBC's 17C being anywhere near reached?

This is crud from stuff that has floated over from France, its also introducing the better conditions for storms to fire up, I'm expecting the afternoon storms or the first of tonight's storms to fire within the next couple of hours around IOW/maybe as far inland as Winchester and drift west, then we need to look east again and see what happens, but I still think the east might be asking what all the fuss is about while people further west see some good lightning

Oh right. So I'm just outside of range as usual LOL.

12C is very optimistic  Can't get over how cold it is - pretty much wearing the same clothes to work outside as I was back in March. Beyond fed up with that blasted wind, we'll be lucky to see 18C over the weekend

Not a great day here. Overcast mostly and very windy so feeling chilly - the high of the day is 14c and that’s happened now because the sun has just struggled through the clouds.

Hope it improves for the weekend!

Cold cloudy windy, even a few showers, probably oroghraphicly made, on the north Kent coast in this northerly breeze.

amazing the difference in temps within a small area, by 9am this morning it was 15c and sunny most of the day.

high of 19.3c, currently its 16.8c

Hoping for a storm tonight or over next few days, but I don't get my hopes up as haywards heath often misses out with them going to the sides (i think due to the south downs)

I wish someone would turn that wind OFF. I had to wear a jumper this morning

It's been cloudy most of the day here, had a small break and now rainy looking and getting dark.

Well a rather disappointing day, dull until early afternoon and when the low cloud finally cleared a large slab of mid-level cloud took its place. In between there was a little bit of sunshine that allowed temperatures to creep up to 17C.
