Is it okay to say it again? What a glorious start.. Do we need to get use to this this year?

Cracking set of model runs recently I think we are on the cusp of something special..

I always fear when we have a long winter with the setup we had that it will take ages to get things back to normal  but on the other hand it has been known that SSW events in winter can impact summer in a positive way though (if its heat and storms you like)

Brace yourselves.. Summer is on the way

It starting to feel that way for sure, it has been the sunniest May I can remember for ages and beginning to feel like a classicaly good one ??

Good Morning everyone.

It looks like it will be another glorious day here in the  the southeast and East Anglia today. i will be off to the allotment to catch up on lost time as work on it started late this year because of the earlier wet conditions.

Kind Regards

Dave

Cracking weekend coming up by the looks of it. Relaxing in the garden with a few beers while the wife watches the wedding malarkey. What’s not to like?

After a few hours' sunshine yesterday afternoon, this morning's back to the pesky cloud cover. Though, at 14C, today is a few degrees warmer.

According to the MO long rangers, looks like some very useable weather out till the end of May. Nice when it coincides with the  long days.

Not seen the wedding or the footie, but it was perfect weather for sitting in a park watching Soul II Soul with an ice cream. I love goldilocks weather!!

And I even planted out the pumpkins, sweetpeas etc before the gig! Really nice, useable weather!

Was a great day gin blue skies what a day for Royal Wedding, how the other half live. :D

I don’t find this weather boring it is almost summer things tend to be fairly quiet and settled for long periods it definitely seems the next 7-10d is secure likely longer I’d say. A very good closing spring month!

More notable it’s been dry running at a third of monthly ave likely to not be any further rainfall except from storms next week it does seem likely they’ll be some thundery action wonder where....

Do good Mays usually mean curtains for summer, I remember one good May led to a scorching summer.

I just wish the chilly wind would do one. Absolutely glorious until the wind blows.

Cool and 100% cloud cover near Dover, Kent. Really hoping it will burn off a bit this afternoon as it's pretty miserable really.

Edit: things do appear to be brightening up slightly.

Glorious day outside , just finished the gardening today and having to put the sprinklers on as big cracks have started to appear due to lack of rainfall .

Been sunny since the early-morning low cloud burned off, though clouds are gathering out to sea again. 17C, so not exactly hot.

Accuweather's forecast for this summer looking very promising for our Region. Hopefully some good thunderstorms along the way will mean we avoid a drought.

Warm, dry summer expected from United Kingdom to Belgium, Netherlands

Prolonged periods of warm and dry weather will be the theme of the summer across the British Isles, northwestern France, Belgium and Netherlands. The overall warm pattern will likely result in one of the warmest summers of the past decade. “Going back to 2010, this summer will rank as one of the top three warmest across United Kingdom as a whole," Roys said. The prolonged warm and dry weather will increase the risk for drought conditions which could impact agriculture.
