Highest this year is around 29.6c on the first heat we had.

Its 25c at London City and 24c at Heathrow currently that's higher than yesterday for the same time of day. The models tend to under do temps by a degree or 2 as you know so I think we could get very close to that today before we cool of tonight.

Even so, it really don't look that bad a week with small ridges of high pressure coming and going with temps 20-24c

Sorry Luke; I was only referring to Beccles's highest temp.

Now up to 25C; if the sea breeze kicks in things'll be touch-and-go.

Last few days have been most agreeable with the low dew points - today feels more like a muggy day in August dew point up to 15c now !! Feels like it will all go bang soon

Yes bloody Magpies real bullies, last year trying to get in a hole in the guttering to eat baby sparrows.
this year fighting with crows seagulls anything.

Yes need a magpie destroyer for sure and they are so bloody noisey.

Provided they are within 40yds send them over. At that range a head shot makes their pillaging life very quickly and cleanly over. Just as well I live well away from other housing.

Must now go and feed the little birds. Feeding stations are iron mess clad. Little birds can get in but other vermin can't unless they have a cordless disc cutter with them. Grey squirrels (tree rats are very intelligent.) so they keep testing the boundaries.

Dont get me onto shite hawks. Filthy things. Covered my mother's cottage and wheely bin in guano. Unfortunately can't touch them. To be honest who in their right mind would protect them?

Anyway a nice evening. Really hope we have some more.  Warm, very gentle wind and all the flowers and crops I planted doing nicely

Yes I think they will confirm it was Gravesend, Heathrow close second. I noticed that central London was a degree cooler for most of the day today, quite strange that. More of a humid feel today and cloud did bubble up in the afternoon, still very pleasant though.

It was unpleasantly humid today. Perhaps it's just in contrast to last week's need for thermals and I will adjust.

Thanks for the heads up.

I started and have ended the day in Gravesend where I live but I was at work through the day mostly around Surrey and Heathrow( twice) earlier and a little drive to the chilterns which was lovely windows down, all the pollen blowing around was a bit of a irritant) but its better than my usual drive into the big smoke of central London that I will be back doing tomorrow. It's funny how it's always the same 3 or 4 locations that record the highest temperatures depending on the wind direction.

Beautiful sunset this evening following the drop in temperature (car thermometer) from 27 degrees at 4pm to 19 degrees at 8pm. We had the bubbly grey stuff come over 4-5.30 then back to mostly clear skies. View below from Chessington College.
