It's been a fantastic late Spring day here in St Leonards-on-Sea. Perfect weather for the Hastings Jack in The Green Festival and May Bank Holiday Weekend.

13 hours of unbroken sunshine, a light breeze and 21.6c. B)

Another cloud free day up here with a light easterly breeze. Driven up to Rutland water for a quiet day out. Everywhere looks so much nicer in the sun.

Gorgeous day not a cloud in sight days like this are not common. Last May was a good month let’s hope our summer is not front loaded like last year rather it spread out.

Another gorgeous day here with clear blue skies, light winds and currently a very pleasant 24C. Can’t believe it’s a Bank Holiday weekend!

Don’t get much better than this on a bank holiday weekend. Another cloudless day with strong sunshine.

Temp at 24c currently.

Spent yesterday around Windsor and Henley.

Dont care what anyone says, after spending many times traveling European countries in the summer, the beauty, scenic landscape and nature of the UK is one of the best.

Imagine if the sun shone like this all summer, Europe would be empty with the rest of the European nationals flocking to the UK to live permanently.

The month itself was not a warm month the exceptional warmth mid month somewhat unrepresentative. There were a number of days with cold rain which may have been snowy in winter. The warm spell also rescued month from being even more duller it saved the month. There were some really chilly days with suppressed maxima. Absence of low night temps due to gloom, probably contributed a little to + anomaly. Sign of the times? After a wet winter and spring no housepipe bans this year. May looks likely to be drier than average, crikey, warmer fairly sure. :D

What a fantastic day, wall to wall sunshine and just a light breeze. Nearby Herstmonceux seems to have peaked at 25.4c which is superb for an early May Bank Holiday weekend.

Yes latest obs show Northolt approaching the 26c mark today as the warmest.

A chance West London could hit 27c tomorrow - stunning for the first May bank holiday.

Will it repeat for the end second May bank holiday? Let’s hope....

I’m about to book that weekend camping in Oxfordshire, so no doubt it’ll be freezing and wet.

Agree with your earlier comments about our landscape. The UK is a very scenic country. We are lucky in many ways but what spoils it for me nowadays is the relentless traffic everywhere.

Everywhere is more attractive in the sun maybe not Peckham.

Yes a lovely still, warm evening.

Only downside are the Magpies and Jays trying to trash the nests of the little birds. Having spent some time encouraging the little birds rather annoying

Where is my rifle I ponder?  Well not on a nice evening like today. But tomorrow is another day.

Another gorgeous day! I went to day Brighton and give to watch the county cricket (Sussex v. Middlesex), and there wasn’t a cloud in the sky. My legs are completely sunburnt though! On the way back, I witnessed an incredible sunset.
