It's been another cracking good day here in St Leonards-on-Sea with cloudless skies, a light breeze and circa 23c recorded in the area.

Instead of heading to the beach this afternoon I opted instead to do some much needed garden tidying work, ahead of tonights possible rain and hopefully, thunderstorms.

Looking quite lively on Lightningmaps.org.

Sun back out this evening... that’s more like it.

Normal rain showers = no thanks!

Had enough rain to last months here.

Finally the sun is back out here after a cloudy afternoon. Had lots asperitas cloud sort of underlaying altocumulus. Looks to be a nice blob heading across the channel, hopefully it can hold together.

Nothing here not even drizzle, the sun keeps changing its mind whether it wants to break through the clouds, but if I can't get any flashbangs tonight a downpour of petits pois would do me just fine :)

Nothing but sun here yet again although it felt much fresher out today, doesn't feel like storms later to me. However if that french stuff does get here I'm happy.

Convective weather and Netweather had us under slight/marginal risks and estofex under a level 1, but for us the potential isnt there until late evening and we may not get anything going until as late as around midnight, so we have to sit tight.

Yea. The storm we had last year was a real slow burn. I was glued to the radar from around this time onwards and nothing happened until near midnight. I’m not liking those decaying storms coming in from the channel.

I still have my hopes up there will be something in the area at some time around midnight, like surrey said more cells could pop up in due course, there's currently a lot of activity leaving northern france west of Caen, but it has a hell a lot of distance to cover, at least 4 hours for that lot to arrive, that's if it doesn't decay

Wise move, moderate normal rain (if any) at best.

If it’s notable it will wake you up at midnight..! You have to be pretty insane to stay up for rain showers in April!

Should any heavy rain reach the region it’s just business as usual.... Rain and more mud... Exciting :fool:

I wouldn't call it quits so early, last time I did that I slept through a pretty decent event.

Nothing is forecast for our area until much later, and what was forecast for the SW/central southern areas earlier is a lot more widespread than anticipated, this bodes well for our chances later

Can’t see how we’re going to get storms. Doesn’t it normally get really humid beforehand? It’s really cooled down and not humid at all.
