i was going to mention goats but thankfully didn't mention goats as i thought it's not the best place for goats, still raining for goat's sake.

Yes its been non stop raining cats and goats here too. Also was foggy and misty yesterday like its around halloween/Guy Fawkes time of the year.

Rather not think too much about Guy Fawkes and things being blown up right now though with all this talk of WW3 thats going around:unsure2:

So part of the storm forecast has made me chuckle

allowing clear skies with some warm sunshine to develop across southern counties of England, which will trigger heavy showers with thunder. Further rain, perhaps thundery, over the Low Countries looks to affect far SE and East Anglia overnight.

If we get any sunshine it’ll be a miracle! Dull damp, misty crud for yet another day here, sunshine hasn’t been here for what seems like an eternity. :blink2:

I dare not look out the window currently due to fear of my retina's being burnt out by the sun...not!

All this goat business, and I STILL can’t think of a goat-themed joke...

The trend is your friend over on the mad thread.ECM is sniffing something seemingly.Someone hoping that this weather pattern will last till November and have early winter. It turned a bit nasty with that one  but all calm again now GFS on board.

Phew......

But what kind of weather will it be, lass? Whether it'll be Weathery weather or unweathery weather. And what will Frosty and Summer Sun make of it?:cc_confused:

The earlier mist and murk has cleared and with the sun breaking through it feels quite pleasant here. 13.8c currently

A lighter shade of grey here now, I suppose that’s a start. Only 12C though. At least it has stopped raining and it is virtually calm.

Likewise :D

Seems nice and sunny in far southeast likely more of us will join into afternoon/evening.

This April so far has been woeful like March but not as cold..

I notice some heavy showers have developed heading towards Kent and then I presume Essex.

After a misty murky morning the skies cleared here in St Leonards-on-Sea to give some lengthy spells of warm sunshine for much of the afternoon, 17.0c was the max locally.

Interesting to read the posts in the convective chat because skies have certainly darkened here in the last hour or so but that's coincided with a noticeable drop in temperature and dew points. Currently 14.1c.

On a seperate note, today was my 1st day of induction as a volunteer weather observer for Hastings Borough Council, a task formerly carried out by a Council employee until the budget cuts deemed it impossible to carry on.

Thankfully though the Council have maintained the observation sites and as a result the small team of volunteers I have now joined are responsible for taking daily readings, posting them on the Met Office WoW site, in the local weather kiosk and sending the weekly report to the local paper. Some proper Old Skool equipment involved, including a Campbell-Stokes recorder and a barograph.
