River has completely burst its banks all around here, fields are completely submerged, paths under water up to the knees,  two days of non stop, often torrential rain. Spoken to people who have lived here for years have never seen it so bad. The path between myself and neighbour was so bad this morning, the drain cover had come off and was floating around! We really need some dry weather, which doesn’t look to be coming anytime soon. Gonna need an ark at this rate :help:

The visibility has dropped with these showers, quite strange...

And the rain just keeps on coming. Heavy bursts all evening - looks like more to come yet as well. Up to 25mm now since midnight.

Morning gang,

Blimey did we have some rain overnight! Wow woke me up around 2-3am to that whooshing sound of it hitting the roof.

I have a lake at the back of my garden when it rains loads it goes up with the water table, in places it's less than an inch from over spilling now.

Last time it done this was 2014 and it flooded all the gardens and a few houses that are around it.

Back in the 1900s there was an old ditch that ran at the back of my house and then away into fields but this was filled in when they dug it out.

I think we have 2 more wet days before we finally start to dry out and warm up. We really have suffered after the cold down here with very wet conditions

always a chance it could setup in the correct position to bring North Easterlies from the pole.

well hoping anyway for one last chance of snow

the last week of April Is a known cold period too.

No rain here in Burgess Hill so far today, still time for that to change though I guess.

I think we will be in the other extreme within 2 weeks, with temps in the mid 20's and talk of hosepipe bans ;)

Looks like all of SE coast is about to get hit by a shower, let's hope it doesn't back build, as it's building just off shore.

A brighter and warmer afternoon after a series of gloomy, wet and cold days. A few heavy downpours still though.

After the initial promise of something drier and warmer, it looks like we could see a pretty grim easterly set up with a lot of cloud and still the risk of rain.

Temperature's have been very pleasant today and so far has been dry with some hazy sunshine.

Friday pm and Saturday looking Spring-like across our region with winds pulling some warm Continental air N/NW before cooler air sweeps in from the Atlantic.

Noticeably mild. Ran a million errands today and every time I walked out of a shop and was greeted by mild air it was quite a surprise!

I wanted to go to the seaside this afternoon...but I had to clean a landrover instead using just one bucket and a water supply up 3 flights of stairs :nonono:

Good evening everyone.

Been dry here since about 07.45 but only a few sunny intervals. Fed up with all this dull, dismal weather. Too wet to do anything on the allotment.

I noted that Pete @Ed Stone said in an earlier posting he did not like celery. Guess what seeds I set in a propagator today? Yep celery. Guess I will not be sending any to Beccles! :yahoo:

Kind Regards

Dave

I will never say no to snow, but currently it looks like cold rain is only on offer. I tend to lose interest in weather forums when the last chance for snow is gone. Although i do like a good Thunderstorm. So if we get a  thundery outbreak from Biscay during the summer i'll be here.

Holiday weekend rainfall totals for the east - nearly a month's worth for some locations. For those who've read my posts over the last few days, I'm sad to report that the swan's nest on my local river didn't survive the Sun/Mon deluge and renewed (worse) flooding that followed. There was no sign of nest or swans today (Tues). But hopefully they will be back to try again in due course.
