The Met Office is forecasting snow is possible in "all areas" by mid week next week.

Awoke to the sound of raindrops, again.

00z model runs overnight, looking to reach some sort of consensus, re. the week ahead. A ridge nudging down, from heights over Greenland, over the UK, during Easter Sunday but not before we see low pressure move away east, into the Continent. This will introduce a temporary, cold, NE flow and there's just an outside chance,  that one or two locations in our region, could see a snowflake or two, to officially record, a "White Easter".

Modele UKMO - Carte prévisions

A low, to our SW, then attempts to move NE, during Easter Monday, dragging milder air over our region, as it does so.

Modele UKMO - Carte prévisions

Much colder air is lurking to our N/NE and it wouldn't take much for this to push back S/SW, later on next week. Certainly something to keep an eye on.

Regards,

Tom.

ECM, singing from the same hymn sheet, as the other overnight models. Low clears off east, into the continent, as a ridge of high pressure, nudges down from Greenland. Our region comes under a temporary, NE flow, on Easter Sunday, which could produce a few wintry showers, over our area. Then low pressure, further out in the Atlantic, moves towards the UK, thereby introducing a much milder flow, for Easter Monday. But as noted in my post earlier, very cold air is lurking to the north of the UK and the ECM, reintroduces a colder flow, at t192. But that's a long way off.

Tom.

Unpleasant outside in N Surrey today feels like November not really got properly light yet. 4.7c with a dew point 3.8c do not expecting anything wintery.

Anyone with a bit of elevation might see something >500 ft might do the trick

Hi,

Sleeting here in Selsdon.

Large blobs landing on floor, and vanishing inside a second.

Wasn't expecting anything before the afternoon tbh

Low south enough to keep he SW winds in the channel, good start, raining but the air is as still as if under a high center.

Temp 4.7 and dropping slowly.

The long elongated sausage shaped mauve blob was directly over here this morning, torrential rain for at least an hour as it moved away slowly towards Essex.

Why don't I ever get them big mauve blobs when it cold enough for SNOW!???

the notable thing here in n Surrey is that its completely still - so could aid evaporative cooling I guess ?

Just drove from Gravesend to Borough Green and then to Lewisham. Up to Lee Green def a little sleetyness in the mix though just rain in Gravesend and Lewisham. The M20s highest point it was probably a 30% sleety mix with the rain I would say

5.1 in Locksbottom and a little sleetiness.Probably a few snowflakes around biggin hill area.Another day of lost work for me.Getting really fed up with this weather now!!Just want spring to arrive. On the plus side we should have no water shortages this summer as since mid december we have had well above average rainfall but sadly this looks like continuing for a week or two yet:angry:
