Dry but overcast after snow overnight. Average depth is 8 cm, more in places where it drifted yesterday, less in others. Texture now seems not dry, hence why that in the early hours has not drifted. A low of -1.9 C now up to -0.1 C.

Yesterday was perhaps the most wintry in terms of snow showers and temporary blizzards, visibility less than 200 m at times, I have known since I came here, over 27 years ago. I honestly cannot remember such conditions. More snow yes, like 2010 with 34 cm but not the blizzards effects 4 or 5 times during yesterday into the evening.

-1c here in Southend ith a bitter wind coming straight off the North Sea. No snow since last night but a band of snow is on its way from the east and is currently sat over the Isle of Thant. I can see the clouds approaching and expect snow anytime within the next 30 minutes.
