Have patience, at around 7 I reckon it's going to turn to snow for a bit (in Edinburgh). And if heavy enough, it might even accumulate on the ground. So far showers have been very light, I'm hoping that they intensify over the coming hours

I think this is the first time I've seen heavy rain 'accumulating' on the back lawn.

Where are you getting the info as it’s looking like rain only in Edinburgh ☔️

Surpringly poor in terms of snow today.

Didn’t expect much here in the South-West but not even a flake is poor.

Rain was on and off from 0200-0500 Stranraer and further east.

Back home was 1.5c at 0800 when I got to bed.

Absolutely no snow and just atrocious conditions.

Looking forward to some proper cold around the turn of the year - fingers crossed

Rain I'm not happy, in fact I'm quite sad.....10cm-20cm of snaw in an Amber warning and i got rain.

Not far to your North it is still snow. It may yet change back for a while. These are Rannoch, Loch Tay and Amulree.

We prefer the term 'wet snow' on here!

Rain, with a bit of sleet mixed in, rattling off the windows here. If it'd been a little colder it'd have been a real blizzard and I'd have been like a kid in a sweetie shop.

Still icy rain here but temp back up to 2C.

Here is the road South heading out of Aberfeldy an hour ago. There have been lots of accidents in the area.

Wet rain/drizzle here, on and off since around 15.00 with a gusty unpleasant wind and a temp of around 3C.

The vagaries of the radar images over the afternoon/evening did delineate the weather types quite nicely, above and below the Highland and Southern Upland boundaries, also the Aberdeenshire lowlands - local variations of course..

Certainly almost of snow here now in the heaviest bursts. 1c.

There is still hope for you lot further north with a little elevation.

M74 is bad now near Moffat with Black Ice and out West (A75) the sheer quantity of water is the main ause for concern

Hour upon hour of heavy rain for me. Once again, a case of what might of been.

Seeing some reports of snow in the higher parts of Inverclyde which has similar elevation to me and even been sent a pic of some whiteness at low levels in Helensburgh.

stayed dry most of the day here before this sleet / freezing rain combo moved in a few hours ago, looks like some heavier precip heading this way from the S / SW over the next few hours so hopefully the intensity will mix some snow in.

current temp 3.3 C Dew Point 0.9 Rainfall today 2.8 mm

right on cue a heavier bit of precip and little bits of ice / hail / graupel mixed in with the sleet/rain
