Anyone else seen the Meteo France app that has a section for submitting observations? It's a bit crude but something similar would surely be popular here, especially in winter.

How do you make your own app?

And it's just about still dry on my small hill near Inverness. Draughty though!

Hmm OK maybe such a thing already exists?

You probably just had the 'After a few beers' filter engaged.

Abysmal weather here on the edge of the Atlantic with grey skies, howling wind and drizzle in the air, but at least not too cold.

Managed one exploratory ramble on Monday.

Suppose the rest of the week will involve reading, TV, over-eating and perhaps a quiz night. Or maybe I'll be marooned here forever, lol.

Aye, hullo frae Dreichsville, county toon and capital o' Dreichshire in the Heilands. Only plus side to this morning's weather is the temp, currently hovering around 14 - 16c. On the brink of switching on the central heating even just to take the damp feel away from the house. I'll resist as long as I can, but going into the bathroom first thing..... it'll be on sooner rather than later!

Overcast, though some glimpses of blue sky to be seen.  A stiff SW breeze and a dark grey sky towards the west, so I suspect wet over there.

The remarkable thing though is the temperature, already 17C at 9am!

Not the best choice for a day out to Hawick. It'll be a moody drive over the hills mind, looking forward to that part.

Now up to 20.4C, impressive for the time of year and out of the wind very, very, enjoyable (warmer than the house!)

A strong, gusty but very mild wind here. Sunny spells and a top temp of 21C. Sometimes it helps to have mountains to the West.

The warmest its been for some time.

Crap day here. Dull, mild, damp, lifeless, disappointingly dreary for what's likely to be that last day that is promised to be warm.

Anyone still want any damsons? I've picked about 10kg and it's made hardly any difference - never seen the tree so loaded.

A day of contrasts.

Started overcast, windy and mild - 14.5C at 9am.

Then a cold front came through around 10:30, marked by torrential rain for a few minutes and very gusty winds.

The temperature drop accompanying the front was impressive - down from 14.5C to just 8.9C in no more than 30mins.

Light rain on and off after that until 2pm when blue skies reappeared and the rest of the afternoon a mix of sunshine and cloud with a few light showers in the evening - temperatures recovering in the afternoon to a max of 11C, a good 10C lower than yesterday

Cold night ahead, already down to 5C.

First really large skein of geese passed overhead this evening, plus not seen the house martins the last couple of days.  No mistaking now the change of season.

First notable frost of the season here too. Cars, grass and roofs all frozen. Disappeared quickly in the sun.

I see the annual combination of the Daily Mail and Exacta Weather has started their nonsense winter predictions! I hope you all had a great summer

Frosty start, sunny daytime now overcast evening. Still.

Chickens never seen frost before and they looked unimpressed.

Only the peas seemed to senace early in a drier patch. Perhaps its got something to do with all the farm dung I dig in. Cool dry day currently 8c

Beautiful sunset yesterday evening and a milder night with no frost, unlike Friday night.

Lovely sunny start to the day here and currently 10C, so not feeling bad outside if you are out of the brisk WNW winds.
