Currently 27.4C and has been for last half hour.  A breeze picking up which I suspect will stop things getting much hotter.

Oh, and just discovered the kids had left the jar of hazelnut spread in the sun - now completely liquid!

Well whether that's an official station or not that's a sensational temperature for Scotland before 2pm in June. It could get higher over the next few hours, 35C not out of the question.

Now 29C at Glasgow airport.

It’s not a regulated site so may not be accurate.

We got up to 26.6C here around 1pm but have dropped a degree since as a slight breeze has developed. Still pretty hot for being relatively close to the sea.

Aboyne at 29.2C with Glasgow airport  and Inverness 29C. Belfast also 29C and Aviemore 28.5C.

It probably is rounded up though I'm sure we'll be looking at Glasgow airport rounding down to 30C or up to 31C in the next few hours.

Showing 34 degress at Auchtermuchty now, that reading cannot be right.

Local weather station 5 mins from here reporting 31.2c and still rising.

It is really uncomfortable going outside, even the kids are back indoors to get a break from it. I am not complaining though, amazing to see this kind of heat in Scotland

31C at Glasgow airport. Equals 4th August 1975 for joint warmest temperature since records began in 1973.

How did Aviemore manage the top temp yesterday? I thought it would have been much cooler up there, what is the science behind this? Thanks in advance!

@Staffordshire It’s not completely unknown, albeit infrequently but quite regularly, for the Aboyne/Inverness/Moray Firth areas of Scotland to record the highest UK temps in summer. Can't exactly explain the science tho'.

Anyway, It has been a super sunny day here, with a gentle breeze holding the temperature around 24C this afternoon. A bank of cumulus did form over the Angus hills earlier this afternoon and there is a suggestion of haze now, but all-in-all very pleasant summery conditions.

You have the perfect conditions, I think: already warm air (under high pressure) giving rise to subsidence, strong sunshine, and no real prevailing wind...A sort of triple whammy?

31.3C at Glasgow/Bishopton. 31.2C was recorded in 1975 which was the highest temperature recorded in Glasgow for 107 years.

Strathallan appears to have topped out at 30.5C at 3pm.

Much better day in coastal NE Fife and Dundee. Wall to wall sunshine, no haar and temperatures in the 23-25c range!

GF lives in Leith and I don’t want to be cold haha

 

Gorgeous here in Dumfries. We’ve done incredibly well out of this summer so far but that’s always the case being fairly far West

 

Too warm to be on nightshift.

A max of 29.5c here. Was 28.5c yesterday.

Looking perfect going forwards at a very warm 24/25c 

Off to Valencia for a few days end of next week but don’t think I really need to!

Yes, I just chose to ignore the fact haar is back in the forecast for tomorrow! I’ll be heading inland at the weekend!
