The cloud pretty much broke up here by lunchtime. Temp 17.9C which feels pleasant enough in the sunshine. Still a fresh breeze from the NW.

Are we going to get above 20C next week? Apps seem programmed to a old ever going that high - I've lost count of the number of times they only update once the temp is already past 20C!

We got up to 19.7C but it has clouded over again and now back to 17.9C. I a, hoping that the sun manages to break through again tomorrow. If not I have always got the football as my wife is off to the Highland Show.

The charts for the coming week are a thing of beauty with similar story being seen in all of the big models (ECM below as example).

Could be 25C+ round here by Thursday which will be the first time in quite a while.

Back to the present and it was another cloudy day to start with slowly brightening up to some evening sunshine.  Max temp of 16C, dry and light winds.

We are not going this year either.Instead staying at home scarifying neeps and making hay. Will do all the local shows later in the summer. Just think of all the money you are saving!!!! Currently big drops of rain and 11c

My wife really enjoys it. She is going with one daughter and the other is working on a stall.

Temp has hit 20C here now in the sunshine.

Walked the coastal path from Arbroath to Broughty Ferry. First half of the walk was cool, with thicker cloud and a stiff sea breeze but it warmed up nicely after Carnoustie with the sunshine now stronger.

Nice comfortable day though not that sunny - good barbecue weather.

Cloudy start, some sunny intervals in the early afternoon then cloudy again from late afternoon onwards.

Dry again with a light WNW breeze and a maximum temperature of 20C.

I'll take this type of weather for the rest of the week, around here temperatures above 22C tend to bring out the worst in the drivers round here, if they weren't impatient enough

Heading out for a walk in the Angus glens shortly.

Interesting to read about folks’ temperature preferences. For me, in summer, anything in the 20s is great. Teens just don’t cut it, I like a bit of warmth (unfortunate, given I live in Scotland ). Optimum would be the 25c-27c range! 30s are too hot and restrict outdoor pursuits unless you’re acclimatised. Warm evenings are my favourite, nothing like a cold beer in short sleeves with a setting sun!

Absolutely perfect. Clear and blue with only the slightest breeze and not too hot (yet) Perfection is back
