Not surprised with the radar returns near that one!

That's more depth than some get all winter.

Not some, just @Hawesy

Had a good view of some great lightning towards the Ochils earlier as it moved East, got a a few images of the towers building and the dark skies approaching, but uploads not working.

My daughter has just arrived here from Glasgow and says that it is still lying quite deep at Greenloaning with some still on the road in places. She said that it looks like snow.

Were there two downpours or is it taking a long time to melt? My wife and her pal had driven up the A9 earlier arriving here about 6pm and said that there was hail lying in that area.

Well, I literally just stepped in the door from the dug walk and the heavens opened. A close shave.

Torrential.

Gairden will be happy.

Looks like the action in the south today is east of me, so I've put the washing oot!

Had a few drops of rain overnight but today has been nice with a bit of haze. Had a good day out in Edinburgh and took the dog down to Silver Knowles beach.

Can't remember the last rain on the Black Isle, must have been late April I think.  Garden's bone dry, 3" dust before you see the least signs of moisture.  Need some rain soon or the rivers will be drying up - some of them are already very low.

No sunshine at all today, very grey and murky with extensive hill fog.  There was a heavy rain shower in Alford at midday, but nothing here.

Temperature up to 16C but felt cooler than that, even with calm to light winds.

Local river is showing current level is 0.088m and lowest on record is 0.055m. Need to take a wee look before we get rain later this week.

A grey and cooler evening than recently. Some sun earlier with a max of 18.9C.

There was a brief sharp shower between six and seven this morning which dropped about 1mm of rain. This was our first measurable rainfall since the 13th of May.

Well not a drop of rain yesterday, turned into a nice afternoon, with varying amounts of sun. Bit grey and cooler this morning.

Edinburgh is chilly, grey and drizzling.  Seems weird!

Grey and murky until early evening, even some pretty persistent drizzle first thing in the morning.

Light winds and max temp of 17C.

Skies clearing from the North as I write so should get some late evening sunshine to round off the day.

Gairden got a proper water again the day around lunchtime.

Other than that, not a lot to report.

Noticed that the torrential rain yesterday hasn't done any crop damage. But then this seems to be because everything looks rather short (so less susceptible to being flattened), I assume because it's been so dry.

Only one plant oot the back at ours took a serious hit; a geranium we bought a few years back we now call 'the triffid'. Been getting too big for its roots and well, it's suffered for that when the big man upstairs emptied the bath right on us.

Small bit of sun today but not a lot (unusual to say after recently) bit of a dead day. Tomorrow probably similair before our old friend the Atlantic pays us a visit one point Wednesday

Met Office - re- stornoway Radar outage - "The Druim a Starraig radar is in the process of being fixed and is awaiting parts. It will be out for a little longer I'm afraid but we have no ETA"                       Absolutely soaking along coast of East Lothian today early morning til mid afternoon. Drenched, have got too used to low cloud haar but it being dry, this was such a change.

Could we see warnings issued for Thursday am?

Gales or severe gales forecast with  winds up to 60 mph in the morning  rush hour. Risk of damage and power outages apparently

The GFS has peak gusts at about 50mph in exposed locations, I can't see anything which suggests 60mph. The rain may be an issue in parts of western Scotland either mainland or islands, but the wind doesn't look bad at all.

Posted that after watching the BBC Scotland weather this morning.... not so sure after seeing the charts.... but still worth keeping a wee eye on..
