Some light, steady rain overnight but didn't amount to much as everything in the garden still in need of a good soaking.   Cloudy and muggy still.

Couple of thunder rumbles yesterday afternoon but that was it.  Currently 16.2c.

In spite of nightly drizzle the ground is getting dryer by the day and we are  only about two weeks away from  permenant drought  crop damage especially on the sandy soils nearer  the coast. The problem with wishing for rain is that when it comes it forgets to stop. According to Mrs Northernlights when the school holidays arrive the rain will start. Currently dull and misty and 17c

And we have sun breaking through it could fuel the atmosphere a bit but compared to Friday and yesterday that is not as likely today

Sun really trying but cloudy all morning.  Still no sign of rain.  Now three weeks since anything measurable here.

Another lovely summer like day here in the trossachs early mist is burning off temp up to 22.2c

As other people have been saying yesterday's storms were so localised that even though there was constant thunder for at least 4hrs i only recorded 6mm of rain yet not even 2 miles away flash flooding occurred.

Thank you for showing some concern Daniel  about how Scottish summers usually go but as long as the sun keeps shinning I'll remain positive  you just never know what happens next

Thankfully there was no thunder storm here KW, but could here thunder to the North East towards Kinross. We did get a few spots of the wet stuff about 6-7 pm and some light showers over night, but not too much!

As NL mentioned in a recent post, the trouble we in Scotland have is when the wet stuff starts it can forget to stop!!!

Cloudy misty overcast here today with the Sun occasionally trying to break through.

Big waiting patiently Innes

Picked the last of the stones off the neep drills  today. We have about 80% emergence and the rest should come when we  get significant rain.

The pigeons are already attacking the tiny neep plants so got the scarecrows refurbished and into the field. Boris and Donald are on the job keeping the pigeons at bay.

Currently overcast very misty and  16c

A murky day.

Now, just to show how exceptional this period of weather is, that would usually mean a depressing frigid feel to the day in this part of the world.

Not so, temperature up to 21C under the cloud and feeling humid with light winds throughout.

The sun tried to break through in the early afternoon as evidenced below (looking W/SW from Oldmeldrum) but the cloud was just too thick.

Not a bad day, was warm and humid when the sun broke through at times. Out with kids in shorts, not sure last time we worn anything else recently. Mist now rolling in, so soaking in the hot tub before the working week starts.

Daughter off to Barcalona the mora, lucky coo.

No sun today here at all today. Max of 13.7C but felt much warmer presumably because of the humidity. Still sticky now. Some sun tomorrow hopefully.

Well, I hope this is not a sign of things to come.

Grey all day, but unlike yesterday, temperature a lot lower with a maximum of 15C recorded and had to put on the body warmer in the afternoon for the first time in ages.   Light breeze all day from the North and this evening the murk thick enough to make you feel a little bit of drizzle in the air.

Looking at the models the southern half in particular of Scotland looks set for an utter drenching late Sunday/early Monday, anyone firm up on this at all?

That's more like it.

Unbroken sunshine until early evening, with a sometimes brisk northerly breeze pegging temperatures down to 16C - not that you really noticed with the sun being so strong at the moment.

It seems the jet stream is heading our way next week so looks like a change in the weather is coming.

A sunny day here. The breeze kept the temp down in the morning but died down pm resulting in a max of 19.9c which felt  very warm in the strong sunshine.  More of the same please.

Mornin' all! Yet another nice day here, although Monday was a bit dull and the sun didn't show face till about 2pm yesterday! Even when we were in Orkney last week we had lots of haar in the morning then the sun came out. Imagine, a whole week in Orkney with no rainy days! Fab - u - lous Dahling! Temp at home last week got up to 26.8c, waaaaay too hot for me and I'm thankful it has now dropped a few degrees to a more acceptable level for me! Ground bone dry, heavy watering of our veggies night and morning, but it looks like a change next week. Bet the farmers will be happy about that! Hope you have all enjoyed summer while it was here! The minute the school holidays start you know what will happen! ☔☔

3c at 5.00am this morning but a fine sunny start to the day. More and more signs of drought appearing in the  crops (Barley at  flag  leaf emerging  and   very short =  little straw at harvest!  )   and grass     Hope the model thread is correct and we get some rain and then it dries up again

Beautiful day here today which is surprising really, considering the wind is a direct easterly off the sea.   Certainly a memorable spell of weather we have had lately.   Can only hope that we don't pay the price for it when we move into mid-summer shortly.
