Particularly dangerous situation evolving now for Eastern Parts of Edinburgh, some extremely intense rainfall rates in excess of 150mm/hr approaching the area in next 15 minutes, wouldn't be surprised if one or two localised reports of 60-80mm or more in the next few hours. Looks like storm is back building too.

Probably had more rain in the last 5 minutes that we got during the whole of may

Moderately heavy rain over Edinburgh Airport just now. Nothing as spectacular as to what East Lothian seems to be getting. Anyone report in from there?

Some seriously impressive lightning from the train window as my train from Manchester approaches the West of Edinburgh.

You mean you managed to get a train from Manchester?   Lots of very disgruntled people down there on the news today!

Anyhoo, picking up some heavy rain at the mo but no thunder or lightning so far.

Rain arrived here now, quite a few rumbles from the cell affecting Edinburgh but the worst is passing to my east at the moment however it looks like more cells are building again to the south/borders area ?️ ⛈️

I even managed to get a seat! I got on at Manchester Airport thankfully. It was carnage after that! Lashing down here with some rumbles around.

Escaped here so far; just some light drops at times with thunder in the distance all afternoon.

Gone all dark and threatening oot now though. Which is great, as I've done the lawn etc.

Wasn't quite the washout it was looking like it would be still pretty muggy but at least we've had rain

Nothing here. Looks little I will have to go out and water the plants.

Non-event. One distant rumble, a few drops of rain and that was that. Nothing registered on the rain gauge, so that's now day 20 of no measurable rainfall. Sun is back out splitting the evening skies and it's 22C at almost 8pm. Braw!

Stuck record again weather wise.  Light winds, humid and abundant sunshine leading to a max of 22C though feeling a lot warmer than that with the humidity.

Some impressive cumulonimbus to the N/NW of us this afternoon so looks like Moray got some rain, none here.

And to think this is just the first day of summer, fingers crossed more of the same in the weeks ahead.

Spotted something potentially interesting for tomorrow night/sunday morning a possible forth-clyde storm streamer  (similar to a snow streamer but thunder instead LOL)

Have seen a report of heavy rain, hail and thunder and lightning in Perth but not a sniff here, 16 miles away. Any Perthites confirm?

Caught the Cairngorms disappearing under a big dark mass on the way home at tea time, torrential downpour followed with thunder and a wee bit of lightning. Nice muddy river down the track for a bit. Temp had hit 24c by 10am so a really muggy feel, maxed at 27c. Feeling warm standing in Scottish rain is always a welcome novelty Similar affair tomorrow by the looks

Caught the area around Alford too at about 5pm or thereabouts. Very heavy but short lived.

Apart from that it really has been an amazingly warm and dry spell, with everything around here covered in a layer of dust/dirt.

Nothing spectacular in the way of a good storm, but some good flash bang wallops, and enough rain to quench the plants. Today looks similar, already feeling muggy.
