Lerwick, currently the no 1 hot spot in the UK at 19.1c. In the same air mass that is likely to provide Olso across the water with its highest ever May temp today.

Just hit 29c on the SW coast of Norway. That's quite something for May.

It's been really cloudy here today no wind and not cold I thinking might be a loaded gun just waiting to erupt at any second anytime

GFS showing 1200 (j/kg) CAPE, Li of - 4 and temps up to 25c tomorrow. Very heavy precipitation breaking out across the south and the central belt from a bit of a convergence zone and across northern Scotland. Looking good with the potential for some large hail!! ?️?️?️

I shall not be making any contribution to the Scottish thread for the next wee while. After leaving a grey and muggy Scotland yesterday, and, after frustrating motorway congestion, now in N. France.

How I miss the Rosyth - Zeebrugge ferry!

Been up in Perthshire the last couple of days. Sunny and hot yesterday and a nightmare trying to sleep overnight. Today has been warm and humid with a bit of hazy sunshine later. Too hazy for scenic photos but did spot a heron stalking fish on the far side of the Tay. ( hope it wasn’t after the nearby ducklings).

Cloud was reluctant to go today but eventually cleared around 1pm to leave another gorgeous afternoon of blue skies, light winds and a maximum temperature of 22C.  Air felt very humid in the morning but air a lot fresher this evening - actually feels quite cool out there.

Looks like we will miss all the flash bang action tomorrow, pity as we could do with the rain as the grass in the local football park is now starting to go brown with drought.

Very foggy   last night and this morning  Bold as brass   yesterday evening two badgers wandered up to just outside the kitchen window (as we were looking out )   to  hoover up the spilt seeds from the  bird feeder. Must have been using the fog as cover. All the setts are  on the periphery of the fields so they must have trundled across the fields for about three quarters of a mile to get to the garden.  Currently 15c

Yep, I was just about to post that, it's appeared quickly on radar! Another one forming just east of Moffat. Looks like a fun day ahead!
