Another stotter of a day with light winds, unbroken sunshine and a max temp of 23C.

Cannot recall ever seeing geese loitering in the fields round here at this time of year, and pretty tame they are at that as you could get quite close to them before they decided to move.

Easy pickings for the local hunting fraternity if they keep being like this come the new shooting season.

Touch and go this morning, here. After a bright sunny start to the day, cloud now trying to push in from the east. I shall remain hopeful that it burns back as the sun rises.

Just speaking to a colleague who lives in Crail - they had the haar all weekend. Glad I moved to Broughty Ferry!

Busy in the hills yesterday, understandably so given some vintage conditions. Continuous blazing sun up An Dìollaid in Glen Shiel but a welcome breeze to reduce the heat. Could see for days. Temp was reading 28c and appears to be the same out west today, a wonderful spell of weather

Interested in the forecast for Wednesday-Friday which seems to suggest storms for the Central belt especially late Wednesday.  Anyone firm up on the possibilities?

Can only add to the ‘glorious’ comments

only thing that isn’t glorious is trying to sleep after a night shift in this weather!

Maxes have been >20c for over a week now, many days 22/23c

In the last 3 days the heat has ramped up though with 24.5c, 25.5c and today is already 24c so heading for 26 probably

The light at this time of year is extraordinary. 2300 - can still see yellow where the sun has set

Driving home at 0230 the sky turns light blue and then yellow to the East as the sun rises and i’m almost as far south and West as you can go in Scotland working near to Stranraer

Looks like temps will fall by 5c or so here for a few days but that’ll still bring 20/21 which is pretty perfect

Sunshine all day with a light Easterly breeze. New high for me of 22.6C. Must be pretty hot well inland!

Cracking day here too neeps through the ground 24c is certainly encouraging them.  Only concern that the rain about a week ago must have been all used up.First cut silage in this area is very short although quallty must be high. Weeded garden this afternoon and the weeds are crisp already.

Cracking day! Just beautiful. More than making up for the cold, grey haar related muck we had most of the weekend!

The haar has already annexed Fife across the Tay this evening and has its sights on Dundee!

I certainly wouldn't mind the haar creeping up the forth estuary towards the trossachs it's been toasty today max temp 25.2c

Don't know about anyone else but to me 2018 has got to be the best year so far  for a weather enthusiast

Another utterly stonking day with max of 24C, light winds and abundant sunshine.  If the Met Office is to be believed, more chance of Haar for the rest of the week.

I get the feeling the spell checker on the Met Office computer cannot handle good Scottish meteorological terms as highlighted below - saying that, Haar is spelt correctly elsewhere in the forecast so goodness knows what is going on bar sloppy editing and minimal proof reading!

It's been pretty interesting with the beast just 3 months ago and a May which has been exceptional. We're running at 2C above average and rainfall of about 40% of average.

.Yes I was just thinking that.  .In 2014 I wrote a weather  article fror the Scottish tenant farmers magazine where I said that the benign climate of the UK was over and that it would become more exrtreme whether it was cold or hot. It seems that it is following the script. On the farm  it is becoming more difficult to keep up with this fast change in weather conditions. Its certainly  been a spring of two halves winter and summer

It did seem to go from Winter almost straight to Summer this year rather than the perpetual Autumns we endured in some recent years.

@Hawesy. The haar so far has not made it this far West but I could see some creeping up the South side of the Tay. The moon still bright on this side though.

Yep, can only add to these posts. Incredible period of weather which has left me trying to remember when we last had rain here.

it seems most of NW Europe is the same, some pretty high temps being noted in Copenhagen and Oslo too.
