On the basis of the weekends forecasts we have put the cattle out this evening in spite of a dull windy day with odd showers and a maximum of 11c which still felt cool. The dung is nearly over their troughs so they have more space outside. They will still be getting silage and minerals to augment the slow growing grass.

Still masses of snow drifts on the hills to the NW of the Firth and the grass  in the fields has the purple tipping resulting from the cold frosty  nights of  the past week .In fact the last sown field of barley has still not emerged since it has been colder  since it was sown 10 days ago.

Bright breezy sunny this morningand currently 15c .The cows have smiles on their faces as they lie in the sun ,even the grumpy old farmer had a smile on his face as he went round them this morning, got the timing spot on for putting them out.

Been pretty much cloudy here all day despite being in the East. The breeze has felt quite mild though. Currently 14.2C.

A cloudy dry day with a few hazy spells of sunshine - breezy as well, especially earlier in the day.  Main highlight of the day was the temperature which managed to get up to just over 18C irrespective of the lack of sunshine so feeling very pleasant.

Miserable sideways drizzle this morning. Crappy spring so far for the northwest. When will it improve? Next year mibbes?

Not impressed meself mistyqueen. Up here it's lovely first thing and last thing at night - but the bit in the middle, the bit where you actually want to get out and do things - is always either raining or horrible low cloud or a cold annoying wind.

Well, that’s our classic maritime climate during the warmer months I’m afraid! Wasn’t great here either even right on the coast sunshine was limited and the breeze was cool despite temperature reaching 16c (18c at Leuchars).

Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

Was beginning to wonder but finally the House Martins have arrived in force, about 10-12 of them circling the area this evening making plenty of noise - enjoying the mild temperature of 13C I suspect.

As for the rest of the day, it was almost a carbon copy of yesterday - that is, a generally cloudy dry day with a few spells of sunshine, especially in the morning.  There was a strong breeze during the morning but that has fallen light over the afternoon and into the evening.  A maximum temperature of 18C again today which is perfectly acceptable!

Last field of barley greened up yesterday in the 17c temperature although it was rather windy.. I see on the model thread that they are arguing about whether its going to a good summer or not. Up here on average May and June are the best for dry and sunny weather. The crunch comes at the beginning of July as to whether the dry /sunny trend continues.Currently overcast and 11c

Lovely start to the day though now clouding over somewhat. Temp 15C and feels warm enough outside for "short sleeves." The grass is growing with enthusiasm.

I'm giving up hope of having resident swallows this year unless a few more are wafted along by the sou'westerly breeze today.

Absolute beauty of a day! Airport showing 22c earlier. Wee shade lower here but feels really warm with no breeze! Kids got the padding pool out and I'm having a wee beer or 2. Great stuff!

Sitting outside the motorhome at the campsite at Coylumbridge with a beer, after a 10 mile walk through Rothiemurchus forest. Glorious day, although a stiff breeze has got going now.

Barely saw a wasp last year but the buggers are everywhere this year. And they're huge - I'm assuming they're queens at this time of year? I remember reading that cold winters lead to more queens surviving as they hibernate better. No idea if it's true but there certainly appears to be more about.

Warmest day of the year going by the garden thermometer at 21.5C for a short time in the mid afternoon.  About a 50:50 mix of sun/cloud during the day with no precipitation.  Pity about the strong SE breeze that was there until the evening as that definitely made things feel cooler than the recorded 21C.

A mild evening again at 13C just now - the residents bats are out in force tonight with at least 4 flying around and bold they are too coming pretty close to you when you are outside admiring them.

Warmest day of the year so far yesterday, with a max of 20.7C and loads of lovely sunshine.

Today...er...not so much. Back to grey and 12C - so far.

Hit 22c at Leuchars yesterday. Today it is just 10c although the sun is out. Culprit of course is the easterly breeze off the North Sea.

Turned Easterly here too but a bit warmer than forecast when the sun is out. 17.8C has been the max today though cloudier now at 15.4C.

Managed the 20 for the first time this year yesterday with a top temp of 20.6C.
