Finally the hard surfaces have given up fighting it! Cover on all surfaces now.

Roads still black here but my daughter says that snow is lying on them in the higher parts of the city.  Radar shows a slightly heavier batch coming so will see what happens.

Where is the hieavy stuff just South of the border heading?

Not a flake here so far this evening.

Looks like I stole it for once. Now a wet covering on the cars in addition to the grass, but paths and roads holding out.

Light snow falling here at 0.5c. cattle look very cosy in sreading tonight. Oyster catchers seem to have gone back to coast this last  few days no calling in the early evenings..

Still coming down here! As a last shot of winter it's a decent effort but I'm deducting points for snow quality! Worst of the season :D

Now you're probably wondering what's this Sassenach, doing on our thread, in the middle of the night??

Actually I have more Italian blood, than English blood, fortunately!!:D

My blood pressure medication, gives me terrible night time itching, on 3 lots, after suffering a Haemorrhagic Stroke, two and a half years ago and I find it's not so bad, when I sit up.

I popped in because one of your members, Kirkcaldy Weather, entered my Cheltenham Tipping Competition, a few weeks ago and has entered my U.S.Masters Golf, Fantasy Competition. As Scotland is such great, golfing country, thought there might be some golf fans, amongst you. If you fancy entering, please pop along to the US Masters thread, in the Sports Zone forum. Hope you can understand the format and rules. There are already quite a few entries on the thread and entering is pretty simple really. My daughter, who worked with me in a Bookmaker's Credit Office, in Croydon, Surrey, didn't know much about golf, when entering Dad's Fantasy Sports Competitions..

Myself, son, daughter and first wife spent a great fortnight in Inverness , back in the early '90's. I took my son Antony along to play a golf course, in Inverness, really good course!! Evidently it has the longest, par 5, in the north of Scotland. Does it still have? We had a great time there and out and about, that fortnight.

KW said some very complimentary things about my Fantasy Sports Competitions and thought I might get a more friendly response in the Scottish thread, than my own S.E. thread. I got "slagged off", for enticing members to gamble and bet. KW can confirm that no money, changed hands!! I was also informed by that SE member that I had no right to talk about Cheltenham, as it wasn't in the SE. Really, Sherlock!! Thought the post was really rude and condescending. I also have a Geography "O" level, matey!!

My son and daughter are great Arsenal fans and as no doubt some of you are aware, Arsenal have a great connection with Scotland, through the likes of Charlie Nicholas, Peter Marinello (great Italian-Scot), Ian Ure and of course player and manager, George Graham. Years ago, I supported Crystal Palace and we had some great Scottish players, John McLintock, Tony Taylor and my favourite Gerry Queen (who we bought from Kilmarnock) Really showing my age, now.

I'll also be hosting a Fantasy Tipping Competition, at the Aintree Grand National meeting, next week. I'm sure KW, will enter again.

Of course a Scottish trained horse, "One for Arthur", won the Grand National, last year, when trained by Lucinda Russell, near Kinross.I'm old enough to remember the first Scottish trained winner, Rubstic in 1979.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings now. If any of you would like to enter my Golf and Horse racing competitions, please pop in to the threads, on the Sports Zone forum.

Btw, really thought Italy were the better side against England, last week. Thought I'd been watching a different match to "English pundist" Ian Wright and Lee Dixon. Really hope they get their comeuppance in Russia, in a few months time. What is it with the English , thinking they have a divine right, to win everything, they enter!!:nonono:

Btw, hope you all enjoyed your snow, yesterday.

Regards,

Tom (SE12) :hi:
