A couple of inches o' snaw here this morning and strong East winds blowing it about with drifting.

Kids saw the snaw this morning and sarcastically said ‘oh great’ - think even they’ve had enough it now ! So I’ll have to go and play it on ma oan ?

Yeah my are kids hardly batting an eyelid at the snow. It's as if it's the norm now. :D

Morning all,

A light covering here in Broughty Ferry, perhaps half a cm if I was being generous! Looks like you got more than the 4cm I predicted @101_North :D

Getting pretty close to double that with mini drifts 8-10 inches deep :D

@CatchMyDrift Mostly proper (unwrapped) snow rather than graupel in the showers this morning, even here on the coast. Nice to see....and that’s another factor....falling graupel isn’t as mesmerising to watch as falling snow!

Good morning all

Very surprised to open the curtains this morning and see a couple of cms or so... its also absolutely chucking it down... actually the heaviest I've actually seen it falling all winter! I don't think it will last long, but very nice to see and I'll certainly not say no :)

Looks like the showers are running out of puff now but an unexpected nights snowfall !

Still whiteout stuff here but yeah - they're getting shorter at least!

Kids are outside after being forced by me - they are loving it :D

Really great for the time of year!

Been out with my trusted Helix and measuring the usual spot on the back grass gives me 8cm. Hard surfaces a shade less.

Pelting down again. If this is it for 2017-18 then it's going out in style!

Could be another few cm to come too, going by the radar.

Got a good amount here and starting to drift. And Sainsbugs probably won't make it with my home shopping, which has a PAVLOVA and SWEETIES innit :girl_devil:

Just checked what the models show going forward. Oh dear. For those wanting Spring then better hope the ecm is onto  something. Otherwise (gfs especially) I cant see anywhere in Scotland getting into double figures temps apart from maybe a 12 hour window for Aberdeen area .... out to start of April (When more snow is forecast from the north)

On the train down the coast to Arbroath for a walk back to Broughty Ferry. Only a covering in the Ferry but progressively less snow as you head east. Arbroath is green.

Sea is spectacular though!

@TinyTim agree best snow showers we've had this winter. Wonder if the cold from the east will return again before the end of the month?

Melting now obviously because of the strength of the sun (has to be expected) but the I would say best winter i've known just goes on and on, Now believe this is better than 2010 for the sheer length it's going

Good blob action all morning, mini drifts in the back garden and everything has a solid covering.

With the sun actually making an appearance today and obvs higher in sky than usual for a wintry scene such as today , everything sparkling and the snow seems brighter , almost blinding at points.

Timehop on Social Media showing up 2013 action for the very same day 5 years ago - carbon copy of last SSW.

Carbon copy of yesterday here. Feels bitter, few flakes blowing about but otherwise sunny.

Amused by this... perhaps following the Red Warned event, Meto think we are immune to Snaw.. granted it's a pretty covering today and nothing drastic - still when a blob hits it goes to white out and blizzard instantaneously which you could argue if driving merits the Snaw word being on the Scotland area, vs just Ice..

Meanwhile out on the Angus Riviera it’s good golfing weather, at least these two think so! :D

Not seen any sun here, just continuous snaw. Husband oot with shovel so it's safe to assume it won't be going off anytime soon.

There should be some good waves breaking onshore there after a few days of SE and E winds.
