0.5 milliKentimetres...on the Murr scale. I honestly think we'll see 10cm now. The snow Gods from the South and East are aligning in a curved arc. Orion's bow is upon us.

Kentimetres.....lol......forgot to put that one in the bingo..........fear not folks, with more snow forecast tomorrow as well as multiple extra NW snowisms, there's plenty of material for round two of South West thread Bingo tomorrow :drunk:

All us Hampshire folk are lucky as none of the councils in the county switch the lights off until it get's light.

Light snow still falling here while we await the heavier bit.

Wiltshire Council actually approved plans about 2 years ago to turn off street lights at night; but I think only in the major towns like Salisbury and Andover, etc.. because they are still on around my area from what I can see.

Ours go out in next 30 mins. South Glos council can afford to blow £millions of council taxpayers loot on swanky new council HQ but whinge about cuts to this, that and tother!! Sorry...wrong thread.

As a keen amateur astronomer, it saves me money in slingshot ammo. (j/k) :D

My Stalag 19-style LED is on until dawn. Makes the snow vivid white though.

Think we've got around 5cm of level snow now but it's too cold to go out and check even in my fleece lined PJs :pardon:

Hopefully everyone will get in on the act overnight and during the day. Certainly looks as though things are developing nicely as per @Bring Back1962-63s recent excellent post.

The Hirlam has been good again for me in modelling things fairly accurately. Here's where we should be in a couple of hours time with the heavy stuff right over me :yahoo:

Time to turn in now, I think the grandkids who are here on a sleepover, may be up early!

Night all.

Ours aren't LED but they still give off white light so the snow looks like that here. The only downside is you don't see the orange glow as much when it snows.

Traffic cam update. Includes helpfully positioned street light.

M27 just outside Southampton.

Snowing moderately here, cars now covered. Pavements still struggling ground temperature is at 0.7c right now, after a high of 7c this morning. Slowly getting there!
