Models still very good although strangely quiet in here tonight...?

Maybe people are judging everything against the snow storm now and snow showers just don't cut it.. :nonono:

So what's the deal with this cold shot? Is it a case of wait till Saturday/Sunday and nowcast or are we on for a few inches? I can't see that we're going to get anything round ear worth talking about

Not that much rain here as it's been mostly light, but a thoroughly unpleasant evening with strong winds and rain against the window.

This weekend will be another test to see now good the easterly is. If it snows in the West Country, it can be counted as a decent one, how much will determine how good!

Gosh it is so quiet... even @karlos1983 isn’t around! Im personally ready for spring now, snow would be nice but it caused so much agro last time that I’m done for the season!

A week of weather;
6c to 13c temps Winds were light until a gusty spell yesterday of 18-25mph.
Was expecting a lot more rain, but its been drizzly if anything, only 2mm recorded for the week until this morning when we had 8mm.

Really want the cold spell to end now, to get on with spring sowing and growing
Had a great snow time this month so want it to move on and warm up.
See we still have the snow warnings and snow Sat night early Sunday.

Now, brighting up, 8.2c, Light SSE wind, 987.8 hPa

I’m in that annoying phase between knowing the cold is coming and the hi-res models getting into range. This time tomorrow ? my app currently looks good, light snow from Saturday 9pm through to 12pm Sunday. BANK!

By 20th March this will be all over, fear not.  Might still be nippy, but snow won’t be an issue.

Very frustrating morning, if you check the radar showers have been continually forming along/just inland from the Dorset coast and heading NNE with almost persistent rain/drizzle here. Each time I check and think the showers might come to an end soon more fresh echoes show up. I wouldn't mind if it was snow showers or a thundery set up but no, it's just continuing from a very wet night!

It's a bit like being on an all-dayer. You finally get to bed and think you're done.

Next day, there's always one saying 'Right, let's get back on it'.

I was just about to say Karlos will be waiting for the HIRLAM to come into range.

At the moment, this weekend looks like being more interesting than the early part of the last Easterly, but nowhere near as exciting as the Thursday/Friday.
Some should luck out though and see a bit. :)

Hopefully that'll then be it, so we can get out in the garden and finally feel the sun on our backs.

Yes, I’m waiting for our Dear  Hirlam :give_rose:

I’ll be having a drink Saturday night, so if it all goes wrong come Sunday morning, I’ll just get back on it  :drunk:

I’m loving this graphic from the Beeb for Sunday, shame I have little faith in their graphics!

Surprised by that to be honest, I can't see much snow getting to Cardiff though!

Time for a snow accumulation chart covering the weekend I think.

This one is from the 6z run of the ICON-EU model and really shows the possible upper low moving across our region overnight Sat/Sun.

Also ties in with the METO warning pretty well :)

Our old friend the HIRLAM model is also now getting within range.

Precipitation charts Friday into Saturday show the decaying front moving SW with some light snow associated with it as the cold air digs in.
