Looks to be heading a lot colder again (sat and sun, possibly longer). Very cold is def possible, albeit not quite as potent as at the start of the month. As ever with snow - once there is cold air in play snow can pop up (as seen two weeks ago - the models don't do a good job at predicting snow at anything more than 48 hours away).

Most remarkable feature is the date - very cold for the time of year.

Hmm wind has changed direction, definitey south westerly this afternoon was more NW this morning, change is in the air :D

Well had a quick glance and models look okay south of the M4 :D

Still a chance of snow and very cold still game on...

I think those northerners need a break from cold snowy weather its been a hard winter spring for them to endure :hi::crazy:

Even the BBC weather man said chance of snow for south. Wow. I almost detected convinction in his tone.

Everything a tad further south again on the 18z GFS. Seems to keep shifting slightly that way over past few runs. Still potentially game on for our region but I won't bother venturing into the MAD thread for fear of tantrums. :D

I think the southward shift will stop and maybe even correct slightly north but we are in with a good chance at a last hurrah asuming it is the last.. :hi:

Saturday and Sunday look best, quite a few snow showers and then longer spells of snow.

I disagree bud, the effect of the March sun on soil temps  is like turning your central heating on from cold it takes a while to warm up.

With a cold start to the month the sun has a lot of catching up to do. When I was a kid March in the 70's / early eighties often were cold , something quite rare these days.

Still looks okay for us I'm south just have to hope for some organised troughs but I'd take cold and sunny if nothing else. :)
