When they left france an hour or two ago they were producing some thunder and lightning so they will probably start again when they hit mainland.

15.9°C and cloudy today. High CIN will put pay to any storms here. I'd exchange it for the sunshine, missing it already.

Oh dear thought after yesterdays glorious sunny day and temps of 25c, thought it may continue much the same today.

But, its 15.9c and grey skies.
Almost feels like we could get some some light rain as the cloud passes over.

Rain would be welcome, as we have not had any since April11th, ground is very dry.
But Id rather water Myself and have the sunshine.

When are the 'thunderstorms' actually going to start becoming heavier and thundery?! Is it meant to be soon or is it more likely to be late evening?

As much as I love the altocumulus clouds, they're blocking the sun and I want to be outside in the sun so if they could clear off and come back when due that would be great. Just white sky here now.

well, that's my sunshine ruined by mid-level crud that probably won't produce any action, let alone a cloud fart  :(

I feel your pain. Needless cloud preventing an otherwise warm, sunny day. Haven't achieved 3 full sunny days for this spell yet.

Here's the cloud encroaching on the blue skies shortly before ten.  It's currently brightly overcast in spite of the MetO site showing it to be sunny here all day. :cc_confused:

Bit disappointing here after the last few days of wall to wall sunshine, cloudy and humid at the moment and no sign of any brightness.

We may as well have some thunderstorms instead of this depressing cloud and drizzle. Very humid here too and 18c.

HIRLAM 6z has storms, presumably elevated, over the east of our region at midnight, then drifting northeast.  Doubt we'll get much action before then though.  In Reading at the moment and it's clouded over properly!

Here's the chart - may get overwritten with the 12z!

The suns just come through the cloud. Or ally won’t last long enough to do much but still.  :D
