One noticeable feature about the warmth is the breeze that winds itself up during the day and drops away at night.

It is always windy in Warminster on the hottest days from the SE with the wind blowing off Salisbury Plain.

What a difference yesterday's 100% sunshine was to Tuesday's 100% cloud and drizzle/rain after lunch giving 7.6mm

Reached 19.4C, kind of surprising with how brisk the wind was from the SE (9C SST's just a few miles away). Although Plymouth got 21.2C as the wind went more easterly (coming across S Devon) there, often seems to happen for some reason.

Some paths in the fields and sand by the river were already dry by the end of the day.

Down to 4.9C earlier, should make 20C today.

19.8°C here so a bit cooler than most but still very nice and will probably beat yesterday’s high of 20.4°C by the end of the day.

Just hit 25°C

Perfect set up for it here, with a very light wind coming from the eastern quarter.

They'll arrive in jackets and complain that it's chilly. :D

Not sure what's going on with my weather station, reached 21.4c around noon & it's now reading 17.4c. sun is shining, would have thought the temp would be rising, not dropping?

Always good to check other stations around your locale to see if it tallies up.

Wonder if this heatwave will make it onto the Met Office interesting weather events?

Just shows what the sea breeze can do few miles inland it’s around 25°C and here it’s 16°C. Feels much warmer than that in sheltered spots though.

Perfect day today! Temperature sliding a bit now but clear blue skies all day. Hoping to squeeze two more sunny days at least before the breakdown.

Can certainly manage that as long as the showers wait until the evening. Don't want this fine spell downgraded to three days now...

Looks like that's the case, I can't see many showers forming before late afternoon.

The fax charts show the trough moving west to east at the spine of the country at midnight into Sunday.

Majority of showers should form before that, many being initiated about 6pm ish... Before lasting well into the evening/night.

Major risk seems north of M4 anyway according to NMM.

Sea sea breeze has dropped so the temperatures rising again now. Back up to 17°C.

Looking at the other sites in your area they are all posting similar temps to you.

You're certainly correct about the cooling sea effect, we picked up 27.4C today largely due to the lack of the cooling sea breeze, as was yesterday..

This is why I do not use those CAPE charts. Bristol is circa  1700 j/kg on that map.. a look at the extended skew-t shows it around 500 j/kg
