Met Office says it will get down to 4c at 17:00 but next chance for snow now will be sunday night

Yes Sunday night has some potential, probably a 1 - 3 hour window where some wet snow is possible under evaporate cooling. Obviously Exmoor/Mendips/Chilterns will likely see a transient wet covering before transition to rain.

Wowzer! Didn't expect there to be a covering after this much rain. A dusting now appearing there!

The intensity of this system is impressive. Even very wet and warm surfaces can see snow settle on them given very heavy wet flakes.

No time at all today but.....Totally unexpected and not forecast at all - it's snowing here quite heavily (1630). The temp has fallen from 8c to 1.5c in the last 90 minutes:

The wind 30 miles to the east is southerly but here it's northerly.

30x.PNG.218f78dd2226996783cc0c853fd806f1.PNG   30v.PNG.e69e610e88f7af81f4572a47f82f901b.PNG  Very marginal -2c/-3c 850s (short term forecast)

30w.PNG.45001299892332d8f18b8a0813a57744.PNG   Marginal but just about low enough dew points.

30u.PNG.296a11833203a66cb8f5b9e2f236ba7b.PNG  Ground temps slightly too high for any settling unless it gets heavier - which it is!

This is a superb example of evaporative cooling in exceptionally marginal conditions. Just a tiny part of Devon/west Somerset is getting this.

After a rise in temps, they are dropping again. Very up and down!

It is dire today, hardly worth opening.

Opposite for me. Soggy bank holiday meant a very busy day. Now sitting in front of the fire

Well it's still raining 12hours on, now down to 4.9C  with 13.4mm since 9am  with another 2mm before then so we are up and and around the 15.5mm mark from this and still it rains.

Very similar figures here Matt with 7.5mm yesterday and 13.7mm for today, it's right wet out there...

Yep everything was sodden when I went for a walk yesterday so I’d imagine it’s much worse today.

If you look at my little prediction this morning I mentioned possible snow for Dartmoor and exmoor meaning the devon area I'm quite pleased I got that right ?

Temp maxed at 6.8°C today. 13.4mm of rain - not much for 12 hours as it has only been light rain. Still managed to do some odds & sods around the garden.

8.2mm to 09.00GMT and then another 13.3mm to 17.00 and it's still raining, but there is a hint that it's not quite so heavy and the clouds are a lighter shade of grey.  Our small local stream has been almost up to flood alert level but is now lowering, albeit very slowly.

11mm yesterday, 28mm so far today and it's STILL coming down. Temps have been dropping and now 4c making it very miserable out. Looks like no let up til Tuesday. Lets hope there's not too much flooding

Hardly Springtime. Its going to take weeks to disperse this waterlogged bogginess from the land. This weekend could have been so productive. Alas.

Still raining, of course.

Temp 4C  Humidity 92%  Dewpoint 3C
