That front is intensifying towards the W Sussex coast. This could be the heaviest snow of the year coming up for S Hampshire??

If those green's are the same intensity as they were at 4am, it'll be pretty good!

So definitely snow gonna be covering our roads? I hate taking snow pics with black tarmac ruining the scene!! Needs to be all white.

Black and white has quite an arty look to it though. ?

Seems that way. I am hopeful I will have to walk to work tomorrow and I don't mind a bit. ? I only found it hard last time because of the inch of ice on top of the snow lol

he just made my day!

John Hammond is one of my all time favourite forecasters . He’s also not been forced to undergo the BBC mild ramping therapy ! :D

regarding tonight's snowfall, roughly what sort of time can we expect it to hit Dorset and how long will it last?

at 18:45 some red spots appear, could this be a glitch or a sign that it will intensify soon

Yes! I’m a little wary of the fact he likes a ramp, but he’s a true pro. Always enjoy his forecasts. I hope to hell he’s spot on. He will get a Christmas card if he is :santa-emoji:

Re-stocked my snacks. Ready for another intense night of lamp-post watching, window-veering, radar-monitoring and feeling like it's Christmas tomorrow.

Just look at the radar. It's the perfect image of a cat leaping and just  managing to get its front paws on Stratford-upon-Avon!

lastsnowradar_uk.gif

And if you look carefully, another beast is in actions. The SW, but this one appears to lose its dragon head to the Irish Sea during the run.

These charts constantly update so if you can't see what I see, it has probably been superseded.

Princetown is doing well I believe but it normally does! When I lived up there I couldn't believe the difference between there and Dousland, not to far apart in distance but snow levels at the top of the moor were massively different. Princetown is epic for snow!

Tell me about it. Living 200 metres lower and just 4 miles from Princetown is living in a completely different climate. Road has been shut to Princetown since lunch.

Ok!! WTF moment

that constant stream of moisture that’s entering the south coast around Portland... just into the channel, do my eyes deceive me or is it expanding

lastsnowradar_uk.gif

I'll probably be shot down but two things:

1. look how the moisture is being sucked out of the precip in in the N of England - and how the precip is filling for our band in the East.

2. Look at the circulation over France/Continent, associated with our Eastern snow band. If all that aligns correctly and comes ashore, that Thames 'streamer' is going to give us another Amber Warning!
