Showers now beginning to exit Belgium on the radar, should be hitting England in around an hour or 2. Could this less stable pocket of air set off a load of showers ahead of tonights potentially more organised snow?

Don't expect much of a thaw here, still cloudy.

9-10cm final total here with 12cm piles. The white horse Hill looks amazing from up here in the hazy distance and I had a quick walk in the little woods nearby and when a gust blows its like a blizzard in there with all the chunks of snow falling down.

Still snowing here in East Devon. Probably 10-15cms. Daffodils looking very sorry for themselves in garden!

They'll be fine, just don't touch them. This type of snow will have insulated the bulbs.

Dartmoor defence shield keeping the worse of the snow away from west Devon and east Cornwall.

It's very heavy here, though I notice that we're not even under the most intense area of precipitation yet, so that should be interesting! Seems to be intensifying over East Devon as it pivots westward

I took a measurement in the most open part I could find in the garden; circa 9cm

Probably would have been 10cm before the 'drip drip' started

That's miraculous for the Purbeck micro-climate during the darkest depths of Winter, let alone the 18th March. :)

What a morning in Salcombe! Beautiful sunshine first thing which started to melt a little snow.

Then snow arrived about 9.45ish and has been heavy for an hour. About 5cm on the ground now, that's solely down to the heavier stuff as the initial snow was melting.

More to come!

Around 10cm here, certainly more than last time. Still a few flakes falling. All looks really beautiful.

Wind really picking up here, gusts whirling the snow round the garden creating a mini blizzard, it's not actually snowing but it looks like total whiteout conditions.  Currently -1.8 with dew point -8 so shouldn't be a thaw here if that continues.

looking at forecast it should hang around on mendip for a few days i think with a much slower thaw.

EDIT - OK, maybe a little premature.  Heavy is snow flurry as I type.  But I think it will be on and off instead of On for 6 hours!

It looks like it's going to miss PL9 again :(  It's ben heading right towards us for the last 6 hours, but has just started to drift North by the looks of things.  I think I will have to move.

Well that was fun. Garden ruined, but almost a 2 hour session of snowball fights and building Arsenè Mark II.

even the eldest stayed out the entire time and actually enjoyed himself.

anyome that doesn’t like snow is odd in my option if you have kids. The utter joy it brings. #memoriesbuilt

lookie lookie to the eastie for tonight’s possible fun !
