The amount of snow falling now warrants an amber, I work at Southmead hospital and these are the most salted roads I know and they are all completely white.

Agreed, expanding the warning area would be a good idea.

I think the METO have called this wrong and the amber zone should have been further north including Bristol and south Glos.

It's certainly coming down thick and fast and building up nicely. Looks like a few hours of snowfall still to come too. I can see the main road running through north Yate has a good covering. It's going to be tricky on the roads to say the least

I still think they've called it correct as other areas are due to get their heavy snow later this morning.

Agreed. Exeter has 8 hours of heavy snow then 6 hours of light snow!! Good luck to them, more than happy with what is here, I am a 5 min walk to the beach.

At least 2 inches up here on Mount Joy in Carisbrooke. Bitter in the wind. Still coming down nicely...  Wish I brought gloves. Taken 5 mins to write this...

See what its like later when cars have driven on it. For the salt to work, it relies on vehicles driving on it to mix it with the snow. It should quickly turn slushy. We've only a very thin surface ground freeze.

Not as good as it was looking, looking lighter stuff now going by the Hirlam and Aperge. But lasting longer.

I switched the security light on to see a very disappointing <1cm this morning, wasnt really worth getting out of bed for. However, I did notice a black shadow hiding in the bush. The cat flap had frozen solid and both cats were locked out. Like me, they're used to home comforts and it's bloody freezing out there. One now snuggled on the duvet, one still snuggled in the snow somewhere ??❄??❄

I'm not liking the look of that gap over Devon and Cornwall. Someone please tell me it's early and we're still going to get hammered later.
