Can't see the half marathon that's supposed to be taking place this Sunday morning in Weston going ahead going by the forecasts in seeing.

And it's cancelled - http://www.thewestonmercury.co.uk/news/weston-super-half-marathon-cancelled-after-met-office-snow-warning-1-5439378

‘Devastated’ organisers have pulled the plug on tomorrow’s (Sunday) race after the Met Office issued an amber warning for snow and sub-zero temperatures across the South West.

I bet they never thought they would have to cancel because of cold and snow!

It seems their links expire after 5 or 10 minutes.

Moves too fast for my liking lol, seems quite a bit of snow though and more tomorrow night?

Tomorrow night might be rain if the milder air to the south mixes in......

Here's the cumulative snow chart for the latest 12z HIRLAM run:

hirlamuk-45-48-0.png?17-17

Looks like a downgrade for Exeter, an upgrade for most of the rest of the south west, but for those of us in Oxfordshire on the NE edge of this region, it looks like we're caught between two stools.  Never a good place to be, especially, if they are of the medical variety!

A step through the latest entire HIRLAM run at a more leisurely pace.

Shows the developments overnight very well but as others have mentioned, the snow later on tomorrow is not being forecast by the Meto at this time. One to watch!

Looking good and great to see the east of our region picking up the first of the snow. For us deep down in the west it’s a waiting game, but a exciting one as Sunday is looking good for us and hopefully the sweet spot will be over cornwall. Keep the info and photos coming guys.  ⛄️ ❄️ Oh, no need to panic buy....... just get out there and enjoy it ?

Just been to Truro Sainsburys. Too late for panic buying, hardly any milk left and bread is selling fast :D

The intensity shown on the Hirlam over in the East is building nicely now on the radar:
