Such a waste of good snow. Everything is soaked again, after it dried out. I'd have preferred it to have stayed dry until after dark.

But it’s just going to melt anyway, so what’s the point even at night :pardon:

Because it would have stood a better chance of accumulating?!

Unfortunately I have not come across The Weather's email address or postal code by which to let it know your desires :p.

Wet surfaces all over the place here too, which will likely freeze up overnight - but hopefully in the process of becoming part of a lying snow layer, rather than as a thin sheet onto which the snow then settles.

If I end up too far east... in an easterly... in the West Country... for the heaviest snow... I think I may have to raid Toys r Us!

If the Beast from the East brings yellow snow there might be a Cobra meeting.

Will it snow in Cardiff? I’m unsure, could get 12 inches here.

the Met office app says snow could well fall this evening, but if it doesn’t, then it will be a case of no snow here, not fair.

should red warnings appear, we will have a state of emergency because everyone will have to run to the shops for GIN and will get stuck.

the Hirlam is hinting at upgrades however, so dinner sized plates of snow can’t be ruled out.

:D

snow init !! - and not even amber warning until tomorrow, i read it, they are talking about wet snow, potentially heavy and lasting for much of the day across the south-west. The wet snow could bring down power lines / branches... i didn't realise it was that heavy

Light snow here but will not come to much ground to wet from overnight rain.

Not going to be much of a spell of snow for us I don’t believe.  Local media saying 5cm overnight for IOW - think they must have used to work for the daily express!!!!!!!!

Warm surface temp there.
All I have other than the weather station air temp at 0.9c and dewpoint -0.5c is my greenhouse thermometer that was yesterday at 20c.

Disaster! A strong gust has bought down a large tree branch in the lane and knocked out my phone and broadband.

Hope my dodgy 4g signal can hold up to me radar watching later

Steady light snow here, temp -1degC  but not heavy enough to settle.

Sorry to hear that @wiltshire weather, I have been thinking the winds are pretty strong today.

It's turned darker here now with some large flakes whirling about. The Dean Hill radar is messing up within a triangular region to the NE of here as usual so I am left with little advance warning as to what's coming my way. Makes it even more fun .
