Could someone explain what's going to happen the weekend I not very weather savvy and don't know what I'm looking at to be honest.

Looks to be heading a lot colder again (sat and sun, possibly longer). Very cold is def possible, albeit not quite as potent as at the start of the month. As ever with snow - once there is cold air in play snow can pop up (as seen two weeks ago - the models don't do a good job at predicting snow at anything more than 48 hours away).

Most remarkable feature is the date - very cold for the time of year.

Well had a quick glance and models look okay south of the M4 :D

Still a chance of snow and very cold still game on...

I think those northerners need a break from cold snowy weather its been a hard winter spring for them to endure :hi::crazy:

See what the pub run brings...

John Hammond was practically purring about the weekend on Points West. Really hope Ian is on tomorrow though!

Everything a tad further south again on the 18z GFS. Seems to keep shifting slightly that way over past few runs. Still potentially game on for our region but I won't bother venturing into the MAD thread for fear of tantrums. :D

Think a dry’er easterly this time round on latest output, but if anyone has a chance it’s our region. Then bring on spring .... I think

I think the southward shift will stop and maybe even correct slightly north but we are in with a good chance at a last hurrah asuming it is the last.. :hi:

Saturday and Sunday look best, quite a few snow showers and then longer spells of snow.

Full sun and 13.5C will definitely help to push them up though, even now.

I disagree bud, the effect of the March sun on soil temps  is like turning your central heating on from cold it takes a while to warm up.

With a cold start to the month the sun has a lot of catching up to do. When I was a kid March in the 70's / early eighties often were cold , something quite rare these days.

Still looks okay for us I'm south just have to hope for some organised troughs but I'd take cold and sunny if nothing else. :)
