That would be even better than last one... slightly further east with more of region under the heavier ppn.

Long way off lets hope this is still showing in morning runs.

Something i saw in the early ninties I think it was .

Francis Wilson

and Dear beloved Ian Mckascill

weather forecast showed troughs coming in from the east and wow a trough can delivery a lot of snow .

So my theory is that showers moving in from

the east could intensify and become more organised and persistent due to late March sun strength land heating . So areas further west could also benefit and not just eastern areas. Any kinks in the isobars could indicate trough development potential .

Interesting to see this because if you check the temperatures over the 4 days Saturday thru Tuesday, it follows a mild Saturday, cooling Sunday, cold Monday and warm again Tuesday as the colder air is forced away. got the makings of a one day wonder again.

Again...... last time it snowed on the Thursday and Friday,  and snow was on the ground until Sunday.

even if it only hangs around for the Sunday though, I’d take that.

I couldnt see heavy mild rain washing it away this time.. looks cool and frosty afterwards?

We gotta take our snow chances where we can because we never see them in winter these days

Maybe we are seeing the new 'modern spring' :D

It is still in hedgerows today. My last snow in garden melted on Sunday although it was encouraged by my friend from wales who missed most of it jumping around in my drift kicking it round in spite :nonono:

I was impressed by the depth still, after it had been a mild week there was a patch on the road from Harptree to Wells that was still shin deep, I can only imagine the depth a week earleir.

It was nice to see dry snow and drifting but you can't beat the huge flakes which Britain is known for! When is the snow coming?

Excitement building again? :cold: I don't know if i can take another week of "will it won't it". The end result was well worth it though!

Whilst sorting out the many photos from the other week i found this one, two Redwing's and a Blackbird, first time we've had Redwing's in the garden for many a year, off into the distance there were at least forty in a couple of trees.

Saw this article pop up on my news feed earlier today, for any bird lovers well worth a read - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-43349781

"Scientists are warning of the risks of wild birds spreading diseases when they gather at feeders in gardens. Experts led by Zoological Society of London say people should continue to feed birds, especially in winter, but should be aware of the risks."

The RSPB shared this link to a more in-depth write up - http://rstb.royalsocietypublishing.org/content/373/1745/20170091

I see Steve MURR is off with his imby posts. I'm waiting for another channel low so I can rate my snowfall on the MURR scale in the SE thread.

Yes quite, I’m thinking powder could be the order again, certainly at first. (If things materialise as currently suggested)
