Main rain has passed through, dropping 14.6mm. A wind direction change from SE to S has brought stronger winds.

Meanwhile in the reliable time frame Ian was talking on Points West about lightning on Sunday.

The first Southerly sourced air of the season wrapped up in low pressure = good convective opportunities.

How long are we talking ? And is it on the scale of last week ?

Pelting it down and it has been so grey and gloomy today .

Unsure if it will happen, but somewhere after D8/9. Not as brutal as last week I wouldn’t think, ***should it materialise***...

we might end up under the trough or in a Southerly flow ?‍♂️

As ever..... more runs needed lol :D

I don't want any more snow please thank you

Froze on the walk to school. Seems it around 3c. Didn't realise it was so cold.

I’m with you on that. It should be time for G&Ts in the garden soon not whisky by the fire. ?  ...

been a tad overworked this week with long days so have ignored this forum and  forecasts. Driving home tonight was a bit of a surprise as didn’t realise so much rain was due. Had to take the back rural roads. Rutted from the snow and plenty of standing water..and flooding -  oh and one point down to about 3metres visibility with fog. What was that all about? It is rural Berkshire hardly the height and remoteness of Dartmoor.. oh well good old British weather never ceasing to amaze us.

Fairly moderate all afternoon which eased for a bit. It's recently started chucking it down and looks likely to for a while now.

Temperature up to 10C too.

Heavy rain here for last few hours with temp around 10c. Big contrast to 7/8 days ago, for sure.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall.
