Today is the first day in weeks ive felt less tired..

my ongoing recovery and re-introduction into society depends on this mild rubbish :pardon:

It's weird how chasing snow takes you away from society. Before you know it 3 days have passed and the snow starts to thaw and you think what have I done with my time.

I think I've officially done my girlfriends head in along with my mother's but as I tried explaining it's a once in a lifetime event probably. My snowman is on his last legs. ?

Does anyone have any snow left at all now - apart from Karlos?

Yes! Still a surprising amount left around here, even on the sides of main roads. I’ve attached a picture of some snow left on the roof of an extension, so although it had drifted a bit it’s still limited as it is on the roof and was very open to being blown off!

Would there be really wintery stuff associated with that?

With elevation possibly, Not for my location though no way. But I’m not shellfish!

Ps royalty payment on its way by pigeon

I've shortened your post to save space Elly hope you don't mind!

Thank you for your congratulations.......I have been referring to him as a snowbaby, but I rather like "child of the snow"....... I was actually a snowbaby myself as well!

Re shortages...we'll just have to have an odd combination of food for tea. When I saw how much milk the dairy farmers were having to throw away, I did wonder if that might affect supplies for a day or two as well.

The Bath half marathon for yesterday was cancelled, but coming through Bath on the way home yesterday we saw that a lot of the runners were doing it anyway as there had been such a quick thaw along the route.

Congratulations!

Given his arrival during such extraordinary weather then surely he's got to have a name to reflect that, even if it's only a middle name. The Inuit have a 100 different words for snow, maybe something in there.  http://ontology.buffalo.edu/smith/varia/snow.html

Thank you, Jethro. ? If it was up to me, I would give him perhaps a third name to reflect the circumstances, which he could use or ignore as he wishes.

As Ellytech said earlier, it almost feels like the snow was a dream now. It certainly feels strange, looking back on it.........it was just such an INTENSE couple of days!

The last remnants of the snowfall of '18 look set to disappear today.

I went for a walk with my boy in anticipation of finding some snow up Elm Hill in Warminster but the nearest we came was a bunch of snowdrops! Really amazing how quickly it has gone!

There are some drifts higher than we could go and good views of the Plain to the S/SE (see picture).

A very pleasant Spring day developing now, 8.2c and sunny spells.

Still some good drifts along the A36 on the way to Bath - amazing how they hang on, when everything else has melted away.

Last of the snow is melting in garden today but some large drifts around the lanes still around here.

If we had had this in december or january with frosty or chilly interludes mid winter this snow would have lasted weeks. 6 days snowcover end of feb into march was still quite impressive though.
