From the Met Office regarding Saturday & Sundays 'Amber' warning..

Snow accumulations will be variable across the area as showers are expected to organise into bands. Whilst some areas will receive relatively small amounts of snow, narrow bands of 5-10 cm of snow are likely, with a chance of 15 cm over higher ground. Strong easterly winds will result in some drifting of lying snow, and lead to a significant wind chill. Showers are expected to become more isolated through Sunday morning.

I still can’t envisage any regular showers making it this far west but want to be proven wrong. I’ve got a gig on ST Patrick’s Day evening as well, hope i’m  not gonna miss the best bit.

I really don't rate the new BBC app. It has me as 1% chance of precipitation tomorrow and Sunday, wheras the Met have me for heavy snow showers tomorrow. I noticed it wasn't very good the other week either.

The whole new BBC weather service seems to have gone downhill to me. They seem to be out of step with most of the models. Bring back the MetO to provide them with their info!!!!

Not expecting much as the last one didnt really deliver snow wise but it would be nice to have a little bit more snow

Some of the models show the snow showers pushing all the way to the coast :)

Ooh just inside the Amber warning here. Going to be pot luck who gets direct hit by the streamers! Exciting times.

Think the cold pool at this time of year will trigger convection too... will be interesting to see if the pennines pep up the showers again.

Never thought I'd see the potential for the same severity twice in a fortnight.

Next it will be the best storms and summer weather we've ever had.

Hope so!
