Precipitation ETA about half an hour and temp currently 1.5°C, dp -0.6°C. Looking pretty good.

Looks about on time according  to the last taf.

The rain/snow looks like being further North than the metoffice warning suggested. Looks great for our region.

. Yep; just hope that doesn’t mean the on-shore winds will have more of an influence later.

Yes, I guess it depends how strong it is as well in terms of the influence it has. We will be fairly close to the low centre so shouldn't be too strong. I think you and I probably hope for opposite wind directions to each other! The SE wind normaly results in bad rain shadow effects where I am. However, lighter winds should mean less of an impact from this. We'll see...

Right, here we are, 5 minutes or so to go. Expect it to start as rain at least but you never know.

 1.5°C/-0.5°C.

Very intense precipitation there so evaporative cooling?

Bits of sleet now here in the heavy rain. A robin has woke up early, I can hear it singing merrily.

One or two un-melted snowflakes now appearing  in the precipitation. Evaporative cooling doing a good job. Temp dropping away. Precipitation getting heavier.

Looks like wind is performing  a cyclonic loop which wasn’t forecast. That should keep it off-shore for a bit longer.

Just light rain here atm. Looks like intense precipitation is required for snow. Rain shadow doing a fine job of shredding precipitation here, as expected.

Maybe rain shadow having less effect than first thought. Heavy rain with large flakes mixed in now.

Omg proper snow now, huge flakes. Didn’t take long to turn at all. Got a dusting already. 0.9°C/-0.6°C.

You were well outside the metoffice warning area as well! Just goes to show how tricky these things are to forecast and to be fair to the metoffice, they did stress uncertainty with regard to Northern extent.
