The last couple of days have been excellent in my view. Beautiful out with a lovely refreshing breeze and dry for the most part. Some sunshine at times. Perfectly usable weather for being out and about in my view. Looks like temps on the way up towards the weekend, but hopefully we retain the breeze.

Funny, I went out at lunchtime and thought "this is ok, not that warm though". Turns out it's 26C, which would have seemed very warm 8 weeks ago. We're getting totally spoiled. The first proper autumn day will feel very cold indeed.

Bang on cue on what now appears to be a regular annual event, as soon as the local schools break up for summer ( a late date here this year 27 July), the heavens open and the atlantic stirs. The last 6 days have been devoid of much sunshine here, indeed barely any, and persistantly wet, everything now a fresh green, grass and weeds growing galore, a world away from the parched SE.

Today was a woeful one, constant drizzle and low cloud, skies never brightened all day, and we ended up with a below average 18 degrees. Tomorrow looks generally poor as well, spells of rain in the morning, followed by showers, perhaps brighter later in the day, but not enough to salvage it. Thankfully the weekend promises to be dry, but perhaps rather cloudy, respectable low 20 degree maxima, but hardly heatwave.

The May - July summer feeling quickly ebbing away.

Lucky you ,anyw not to many crappy north west seasons to go before I go west

Looking at this mornings data, looks like the NW of England, apart from Cheshire getting the bad end of the stick again. Brilliant hot sunshine again down in Sussex. Glad I moved from the gloom over 10 years ago but do miss the humour of Northern Folk, the pubs and the pies ! Nice place but crap weather for the most part.

Yes, was really noticeable at lunchtime when I went for a walk. Cloudy, around 23C, relatively high humidity and fairly light winds. Rather muggy feel and not particularly pleasant.

Feels distinctly autumnal today which is of course par for the course. True to form the hot weather finished promptly just as the schools broke up.  Probably Atlantic dross all month until the start of September when high pressure will re-assert itself just as the autumn term begins.

Been the same for most of my 68 years with the exception of 1976 when the autumnal weather did actually wait for  the arrival of September.

Definitely not feeling autumnal over on this side of the region. Sunny, low twenties celsius with light winds and feeling warm. Doesn't have the muggy feel that we had yesterday so more comfortable out.

Yeah it's decent here, not overly hot but a decent temperature to be doing a few outside jobs without feeling drained.

tomorrow looking warmer though so it could well be a beer garden afternoon.

Better than yesterday, clamminess has gone, hazy sun and pleasant.

Is there a better way to enjoy a hot, sunny afternoon!? Couple the beer with a day at the cricket.....perfect!

Hmm cricket, that’s a thought.

only a 10 minutes walk and a good bar although they were probably playing today instead.

reached 23c here so hardly the heat of other parts of Europe or even down south but got a sweat on giving what’s still alive of the the grass it’s first cut for nearly a month.

Not as sunny or warm as yesterday but still quite pleasant.  Changes are afoot and maybe rain and cooler conditions will return as we progress through the week.... could also be a wet weekend, which will be a rarity this summer.
