I must say, it's felt pretty autumnal today. Not used to it after such warm weather generally this summer.

I think the sun will be having an all day Sunday lie-in... it's bleak out there.  Wet, damp, cool, dull.  Handbrake turn straight into Autumn, but hopefully a better day tomorrow.

Thoroughly nasty here. Heavy rain and just 10C.  I've seen claims that this could be the coldest late summer holiday on record.  The only other one in my memory is Aug. 1987 with similar rain and cold.

After Friday's chill fest, yesterday was one of the better days of August so far, dry, sunny spells and more respectable temps, still only 18 degree, which is below average. Today thought, one of the worse days of August so far, quite probably the worst, on account of the woeful temps. We have not maxed above 11 degrees as yet - and its dull with rain, thoroughly miserable and very bad timing for the long bank holiday season weekend. It should begin to clear out in the next couple of hours, but too late to save the day.

Many a milder day in December..

...and to top it off another band of drizzle coming into the region now....and tomorrow not looking bone dry either.... I expect a cloudy day now, with very little sunshine.  At least it's getting us ready for the arrival of autumn just around the corner...but a late spell of warm sunshine wouldn't go amiss.

Fairly persistent heavy overnight showers rattled  in off the sea and across the north lakes all night  - wondering If Keswick show will be called off due to the state of the field ..??!!

Radar looks fairly dry but every now and then a shower will crop up fed in from the Irish sea on a fresh westerly breeze.. but it's indoor game of snooker for me so no probs.... Shame for all those attending late August festivals though... esp. After a cracking late spring/early summer

The August cloudfest continues.  Like most of this August the day started off well but didn't take too long for the grey lid to form.  12C at 11am isn't very good either.

According to the Bolton News, we'll be getting that at Christmas!  Nathan Rao has apparently moved on...
