Ahh it’s expanding, excellent.

Granted it’s going to take a lot more rain to dampen things down properly, but it’s a start!

I returned from Spain to a scorched garden, no grass left. Overcast here

it looks like it's going to rain, fingers crossed, feels muggy at 17c with a light breeze

A sprinkling of rain for the first time in nearly 4 weeks.  Might have to dust the cobwebs of that strange looking item of clothing in the corner of the room nominally referred to as a 'coat'.

What is that strange thing falling from the sky? Been a long time since the ground was dampened by rain.

Nothing for Winter Hill yet.  Glad you're getting help on Saddleworth, though.

Heavyish shower first thing this morning and I pretty sure our first rain here since 16th June but probably only enough to put a 24 hour halt to the grass browning and nothing to bring the green back.

back to cloud with bits of sun and humid since.

Well this is marvelous! The shower over south Manchester seems to be parked right over my garden. Moderate to heavy rain, no thunder.

Never thought i'd want rain, but the sun dried vegetation around here sure does.  Sadly the stationary blob of heavy rain is just holding south of my vicinity.

Deep dark clouds to the north and northwest here, apparently there was fine-light drizzle towards south Stockport earlier on when the clouds were building but still rain-free here.

I been to Lancaster today and its been raining over there about half an hour then it stopped. I don't know whether its been raining here in Chorley today. The Savannah of Lancashire at least received a bit of rain.

There's been heavy to torrential rain here in Newton le Willows, Merseyside for the past 30 minutes. Surface water on roads, guttering overflowing, etc. No thunder and lightning yet though, but a cool breeze.

Yep a bit frustrating watching that lot to the west and south. Tomorrow looks like a decent chance for some heavy showers though, fingers crossed!
