Another superb Sunny Sunday....had a storm and short burst of torrential rain the other night but I'd bet the last 10-14 days have only had two instances of falling rain here.  The ground gobbled up that rain as well and anything green is growing at a very fast rate in these ideal conditions.

Fantastic days weather.

A few jobs done in the garden, a couple of hours sat out in the sun and now a couple of bottles of real ale to help wash down my tea.

And with the next few days looking settled it’s just a shame it’s back inside at work but at least at this time of year we are approaching maximum daylight so no excuse for not enjoy what’s left of the day.

Storm in Preston friday evening with some flash flooding in the more eastern parts of the city.

Just confirming what others have been saying .... its been notably dry here for almost all of May, June looks set to at least start in the same way, with the met office suggesting another dry week https://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/forecast/gcw1fe28j#?date=2018-06-10

Not seeing a cloudy start here, the sun already in full show.   Maybe it will cloud over later but another fine early summer's day on the cards.

Another brilliant days weather, 21c max here but felt plenty warm enough in the strong sunshine and although the pollen count was very high, my hayfever kept away.

Obviously a long time remaining for it to go belly up but so far, late spring and summer 2018 has delivered big style.

I don’t think I can remember a longer, better spell of warm sunny weather, ever, in the UK. This is fantastic!

I'd say the airport are right, given that's the text forecast for the whole NW. Rainfall at low elevation will be minimal and patchy. Beyond that, I'd say the GFS is overestimating precipitation as it always does 5 days out and the "pattern change" will result in a slightly cooler version of what we've experienced for the last 4 weeks.

Which is a shame as the soil in my area is getting very dry. Local weather station on Wunderground shows no rain at all since last Wednesday, and less than 25mm in the 3 weeks prior to that. That's less than half the average for May.

Luckily there's a water leak outside my house that I can catch and use to water the garden a bucketful at a time but some natural watering would be most welcome.

What a great spell of weather this is turning out to be and for the first time in what seems like years, a proper winter has been followed by a proper summer.

Wedding anniversary so off out for a nice country pub meal now and for a change it may just be eaten outside.

Well, despite my best efforts to repel it, it is actually raining lightly in the city centre. It doesn't look like much on the radar so I doubt it will amount to anything useful.
