Spent most of today dull but now long spells of sunshine. A humid feel to things.

Sky looked dark and threatening on the way home from work but it’s cleared through now without rain and the sun is out again.

A very humid feel to the day though and although I can’t see us getting much in the way of storms here there’s always a chance while it’s that way.

any storms will probably miss the populated areas of the NW ,and if they do happen they will happen in the Irish sea and push away north west

its always seems to happen like that , indeed there are cells building in west lancs right now which will probably move into the sea and away , oh what a surprise !  not, the odd sferic is possible there

Was hoping for a storm today but it's looking extremely unlikely now as temperatures cool and convection ceases. There is tomorrow but I fear it will be undone by endless stratiform cloud from today's decaying thunderstorms.

Thunder here and very very dark clouds with some moderate rain

The rain got heavier but the thunder stopped, in total I heard 3 rumbles all far away, no visible lightning

Even though the radar shows a direct hit ?

just to rub salt into the wounds , I can bet most storms tomorrow are in northern ireland , south west scotland , possibly cumbria but not much going in the main parts of NW england ,  I would love to see a lightning map of the uk after this thundery spell ends,  the maps will be saturated with lighting strikes with a big void in NW england, but saying that the NE has done bad as well , but they usually get their turn later in the summer, meanwhile in the NW ....zzzzzzzzzz

Another day at Hatchmere but not as nice as last Thursday.  At first I thought we were destined to tiles and chlorine today given this morning's murky, fairly chilly conditions but I saw small patches of blue forming amongst the grey so we decided to take a risk and go up to Delamere Forest.  Cloud broke up to give sunny intervals with air temp. around 21C.  Lake water temp. up one degree from last week: 20.5C.

Look at that dry slice through NW England

Netweather GFS Image

Who would have guessed it but all the cells seem to be finding any way possible of avoiding here as per swear Wrexham is cursed or something or is extremely unlucky third time this week that they just can't seem to get here :nonono: Gonna need a bloody miracle here i think lol. Anyway rant over good luck everyone else
