Just spotted this here and took a quick snap with my phone. Nothing electric yet but hopefully it'll explode in to life.

Been up on the tops around Bleaklow today, got a little dicey around 3pm when the humidity shot up and AcCas was beginning to form, but it was just the passing lighter showers over the Midlands and not the monstrous CB I was envisaging in my mind, with no phone signal. Clear-skies again now and back at home I can finally look westwards for developments over Wales.

Quite a cluster of strikes across Central North Wales and other strikes to the West and East of this now. This cluster will probably head towards Northern part of Wirral and Merseyside/Lancs Coast.

It looks a little small on the netweather radar, but this early I'll take anything as a start to the lightning season

Thought Chris would be all over a potential storm day?

It's going to go boom very soon ,keep the faith ,lol

We’ve swapped haha I was optimistic last night, you less so. ? I’m still hoping, instability is still to the west, and the showers can fire quickly!

Strikes a plenty in Southern England and Northern France, the most active area of storm activity in the whole of Europe right now. http://en.blitzortung.org/live_lightning_maps.php?map=12 Hope we join in the fun as the line of instability tracks west to east.

Not giving up yet but not looking great so far that Cell over Bala/Harlech way is heading straight into the Irish Sea so is not a lot of use for the NW apart from those on the coasts hopefully some new cells will fire soon though.

I think anything could form up to midnight really.

Get a feeling it's slowly going down the pan.

What has happened to thunder? We have had bad seasons for snow eg 2013-14 but we still get good seasons from time to time. I recorded 27 days of falling snow this past season.

Last recorded a year with thunder days in the 20s was in the 1990s

Distant rumbles from the sea

Looks like Cumbria, especially the south, would do well!
