Is it sticking anywhere? The snow here has been heavy but it quickly melts or evaporated/blows away as the ground is quite dry? I’m thinking it would need to snow after 4/5pm for anything to settle. Is there any indication that it will snow overnight as Metoffice seem to think most of the snow here will be before 5pm?

Yes if theres going to be any snowcover the showers need to get far more frequent this afternoon..

Esp as they will likely die away tonight the window of opportunity is shortening by the hour.

Some cover here..... intresting to see the sun melt the snow where the cover is thin then watchbiy freeze again with the next shower.

Icicles forming as well. Bitter outside

Which forecast/model shows them dying away tonight? Updated EURO4 shows plenty of activity overnight and warnings not been revised as yet.

No worries! I thought they were supposed to peak later this afternoon and overnight and maybe start to die away tomorrow? Metoffice text forecast sounds amazing for tonight.

Showers packing in here thick and fast. Each one heavier than the last. For this location the showers hit between Sheffield and Stocksbridge before arriving here 20 mins later so that’s where my eyes are glued at present. PLENTY of showers upstream.

Showers aligned to miss my location but it looks brill for the peak district..

Yep it looks like everything is gradually heading south and although the current amber warning zone seems like a good call for later, i’m expecting the yellow area to be removed from myself and anything north and northwest of here.

at the moment though the met office app has me down for heavy snow from 5 ish right through until tomorrow morning so until that changes i’d Imagine nothing is set in stone.
