Snowing and extremely gusty wind.

Roof is creaking and cracking with the really strong gusts.

Judging by the various forecasts, I think it will be this afternoon, evening and overnight when the shower activity really cranks up so not overly concerned about the lack of activity at this stage.

Doesn't look pants to me, I see a mass of preciptation coming into NE England and heavier echoes appearing off the coast. Look at it compare to two hours ago.

Trouble is some people expect it to be here and now....:fool:

Some more intense bands of showers now pushing in across the Hull area. Airport TAFs look great right through into tomorrow. Even the misery model (EURO4) is joining the party. All set for a very interesting day ahead.

I expect to have a dry weekend now apart from a few flakes. Oh well.

Visible satellite shows speckled (shower) cloud all the way from the East Coast to nearly as far as Denmark. Snow train is on the way!

Dry at the moment but we’ve got a slight covering of snow from overnight and the radar shows the showers within touching distance of this side of the Pennines.

The wind is the biggest issue at the moment though, maybe not just as violent as last time out but very gusty all the same.

Judging by the radar, there appears to be some intensification of showers now as they move over the hills. A good sign so early in the day.

Have a good day all, enjoy the snow. I'm guessing the Pennines are going to get clobbered today and tomorrow.

It’ll probably get rough on the roads across the tops later i’d imagine.

Pretty well everyone going to see something from this though and it looks like your part of the country is going to get some substantial snow later today and overnight.

Always enjoyed posting in this thread as it seems relaxed compared to the majority. Suppose so, we've got snow from 10pm until 3pm tomorrow apparently.

I think someone in the NW may hit 20cm+ on lower ground.

My garden and stables are only just back together after the last blow so I hope it doesn’t get any stronger than this. Intensity of light snow increasing.

Morning

Dry here and even the sun is making an appearance all forecasts suggest it will be mid afternoon before the snow showers get going

We shall see.
