The BBC for my location have light snow overnight tonight but then have dry and just cloudy from 6am Saturday through sunday, Really????   They used to massively over do the snow, they regularly had me under the heavy snow symbol for 36 hours consec, I can report I have never received anywhere near 36 hours of continuous heavy snow since ive been here or in any other location ive lived in for that matter, now it seems they've over compensated - I will eat my hat if I get no falling snow at all after 6am Saturday.

Evening. Amazing everyone is here again, and we have another snow chase. It even looks promising again for some. Seems a long time and a lot of snow events (failed or otherwise) since the first sleety bits in late November.

They forecast me no snow at all in the last spell and I couldn’t get out of the town every road was blocked.

me too.

Very suprised, i dont watch bbc forecasts anymore as to be frank, i think they are poor.

Even euro4 has snow accumulations across our area ..

Youd be better off just looking out of the window.

The problem is that everyone in the pub uses them on their phone - during the beast, the staff were worrying about getting home but people were using those - I told them to use the radar, they need to either have an algorithm for translating raw model output into sensible location forecasts or bin them altogether.

Don't get me wrong - its far from a done deal that we get battered, most of the streamers could track south or North but to say we will get nothing at all is very unlikely, unless the whole thing tracks ridiculously further south or North and not one model shows it, it looks to me like they use a different model for their graphics and their automated forecasts, even Thomas Schafenaaker was laughing in the video where it explains how to use the site to get a 14 day hourly forecast, he probably knows its s--t but he cant refuse to do it, its showing highly qualified professionals unfairly in not a great light.

Yes, only 30 miles or so from Oldham so the colder air is not far from me now..

Makes a nice change to see the Temperature shoot downwards and not the other way round

Manchester airport Stats

1500 Temperature 11.8c

2100 Temperature 4.9c

A 6.9c drop in 6 hours

Just had a shortlived wintry shower, sprung out of nowhere, expecting perhaps a light cover come first light, and hopefully some heavy snow showers on and off throughout tomorrow, to give an inch or two maybe?

Coldest uppers -12/-13 degrees heading straight for Cumbria, which will aid convective instability. Maxima may only scrape to 1 degree.
