Rather have short and sweet, with cold and snowy, than long and arduous, with very cold and dry. ?

It’s extremely windy here. Howling round the house.

Maybe lay off the curry tomorrow.

Damp and dreary this morning, but quite mild. Looking at the forecast I think it’s crazy that some areas are looking at an 11c drop between maxima on Friday and Saturday (Maidstone, Kent, for example).

Been there. When severe diarrhoea goes on and on and you doze on the bog longing to get back in bed.

Anyways, lots to look foreward to in the next couple of days with added surprises thrown in at short notice I feel. I can say one thing, it will be bitter and even delivery something s__wy to the region.

The real fun is going to be after that during Sat and Sunday with the proper cold uppers.

Amazing that the models have upgraded the easterly in the last 24 hours. The Aprege was reluctant to show any shower for our region up to yesterday but today is looking fab!

Met Office have the weather warning but not reaching the area yet.,

Eastern parts of the NW in the warning area for Saturday. This may well spread further West by tomorrow, who knows. I wouldn't take warning areas as gospel anyway. Look at what happened across Merseyside last week.

Looking good for heavy snow showers again here saturday :yahoo:

Indeed! We had no decent easterlies for years and now 2 in the space of two weeks! haha

Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the following winters as we pleasantly approach the solar minimum. :friends:

Somehow I think my planned weekend hike up Kinder Scout isn't going ahead, not with Saturday's snow along with the forecast gusts of 40mph+ on the tops making it feel more close to -12'c.
